![]() Lianne La Havas does a splendid cover of Radiohead's Weird Fishes on her new album. Some other tracks on that album remind me of the soundtrack for Jackie Brown |
![]() it's not bad at all, but it's their weakest album imho. it's less guitar driven, more synths |

Noveller's The Thing has none of the original's claustrophobic atmosphere - a by product of applying copious amounts of reverb. However, decent bass tone innit.
But wait, it is a woman, I change my mind. Great stuff, best version of Carpenter yet. But wait, she's American, oh no! But wait, she's white ufff. So many conflicting emotions, so little time |

One more conflicting factor for you: the piece was actually composed by Ennio Morricone (hence the timing of Noveller's release of her version), although he in turn wrote it in "Carpenter's style". |
;) When I saw Carpenter live a couple of years back in Newcastle the Thing theme was a particular highlight. The gig was in the old grade listed Tyne theatre opera house, a cavernous ancient relic of a bygone era built in 1867 and the perfect accompaniment to Carpenter's vintage classics.

Awesome, thanks! |

![]() Underrated as hell. If someone came up with a pop/rock record this strong in today's shitty auto-tuned mainstream, they'd be praised as the new, more accessible Spoon or something. |
