True. I love that game, it's so twisted and dark and creepy. I love the story, The third game is great as well, I'd probably say that it's a bit scarier than the second one, the enemies are much faster and I basically ran for my life the whole game.

I've never played the first game, even though I own it.

in 1989 this was my only Game Boy game (Tetris didn't count, cuz I didn't understand it). I beat this game rather quickly. And yet 20 yrs later, I still love it. Even if I can effortlessly beat it in a short sitting, it's a great game.

I'm playing Batman: Arkham Asylum. I've been pleasantly surprised over how good it's turned out to be. I've read it's received extremely high praise from critics. It even has an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records as the Most Critically Acclaimed Superhero Game Ever. The cherry on the cake for me has to be the developer of the game, Rocksteady Studios, is British. Jolly good show, old sports!

EVOLghost 01.15.2010 02:55 PM

Yah I enjoyed it. Still haven't finished it though. PLan on it soon though.

yeah. Most of the voices are done by the people who did the voices for Batman the Animated Series.

EDIT: and in those voices are the ones I normally associate the people with. I love the animated Batmans Series it was the best.

I honestly just got this from the local thrift less than an hour ago. It came on a combo disc with Star Wars Clone Wars. I think it's mighty ridiculous that they even tried tagging a story on the game. I've only fiddled around with the standard Tetris game-type so far, and my skills could definitely use some sharpening.

But for the most part - it's Tetris. So yes, I'm enjoying it a great deal.

noisereductions 01.22.2010 03:54 PM

yeah me & my wife play Worlds so we can play simultaneously on the Gamecube. But if I'm playing Tetris alone, it's the original on Game Boy.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 01.22.2010 04:03 PM

I really enjoy the fact that they incorporated the rumble pack into the hard drops.

noisereductions 01.22.2010 04:04 PM

the music sucks ass though.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 01.22.2010 04:24 PM

That's why you gotta love the XBOX's internal hard drive. Slipknot's Iowa makes a great soundtrack to this game. :)

I've been playing Killzone 2. Technically, it's brilliant. Unfortunately it's the mechanics of the game which lets it down as it's like so many other FPS's I've played, which makes playing it pretty much tedious.

The last FPS I enjoyed playing was F.E.A.R 2: Project Origin. I liked the supernatural horror aspect of it, which made for tense, chilling gameplay.

I've never played any of these games? Always seemed a bit boring...I mean don't you just walk around in a first person view?

noisereductions 01.27.2010 12:06 PM

I actually recently read VINTAGE GAMES, which had a chapter on Myst. And it talked about how ground-breaking the game is. But also made it sound pretty boring haha. I guess it's almost considered like new-age relaxation or something.

EVOLghost 01.27.2010 12:08 PM

^ EXACTLY!

They look interesting....but I need to be more than just walking around..

Myst games are point and click adventures involving puzzle solving I felt must only have appealed to bespectacled, bearded PC owning geeks. I owned a Sega Mega Drive when Myst came out and it was anathema to a console video game nut like me.

noisereductions 01.28.2010 03:51 PM

I do like Point & Clicks (Secret Of Monkey Island, Broken Sword, etc) but Myst looks kind of boring to me. I do have glasses. No beard. And the PC I have is never used for gaming.

I always equate owning a Mega Drive to coolness and remember posting on another forum an image of what Mega Drive owners looked like. The image I chose was this group photo of the actors from the movie "The Outsiders". :D

I was stuck in one part for months, the I realized I needed to turn up the brightness setting so I could see the goddamn door I was supposed to take!!!!!!!!!!!!

alteredcourse 01.28.2010 09:41 PM

Oh man, Rob....did you just guess that? So frustrating.

I loved that game when it came out, so I recently got the new release for ps3 where its bundled with the 2nd one, which I havent played yet. And...I fuckin' hate the first one now! Can't stand the camera shifting and the drama about everything...and the puzzles, I dont know, they seem plain ridiculous this time.

Waitin' on Bioshock 2 on the 9th.

_slavo_ 01.29.2010 03:21 AM

Been playing Tekken 3 emulated on PC for quite a while. Fun.
