Disappears is no more? What the shitfuck?! Goddammit!
|

It’s “spirit desire” though... innit? I used to think it was “Speed design,” which I thought sounded hella cool for no reason. Was kinda bummed when I learned what it really was, even though it certainly makes more sense. Spirit design... hmmm... |

Yeah, no, I was just soupin'. :) Quote:
An e-mail I got from Sonic Cathedral refers to Case as "the former Disappears and now FACS frontman". What can I tell ya. :( |

You lie and tell me “it’ll be OK,” you intensitive bastard! |

damn, that's a pity that Disappears is no more. But FACS is featuring the three cool members, who needs a bassist anyways ?
Don't have time to check out the new songs, but I will definitely do so |
Thurston Moore - The Best Day (when I abandoned my marriage and continued fucking another woman)
Grace Lake and Germs Burn are the best songs |

He’d already done that/been doing that for a couple years at that point, but yeah. Hah. |

I used to be kind of obsessed with this. Good shit. Hope you like it. |

why do musicians so rarely have the decency to shut the fuck up and just play their instruments? |

I don’t know, but I often wish music had less vocals and fewer lyrics. One of the biggest problems with pop, I think, is an insistence on filling every second with words, many of which are bullshit. Most of my favorite artists know how to balance having a lyrical/vocal presence with letting the music stay the focus, and giving instrumentals room to breathe. One thing prog-rock got right, that. And post-Punk. Even the best hip-hop, the most vocally cluttered genre, gives us breathing room. The worst is usually just words. This is one of the reasons why I’m such a frequent listener of electronic music. Sometimes I just want to think and live with music playing. I don’t always want to sing along or whatever. |
oh holy hell deerhoof is back in insano mode!
i might be late catching up to this because it was amy goodman playing them in her show but o man o man THE MAGIC if not as virtuoso as their earlier work is bannanananananaz. |

i might have been confusing them for each other my whole life... |

Yeah, overlooked album. I kinda stopped paying hardcore fan attention to Deerhoof around 2012, but the new one is goddamn sweet. “The Magic” is from 2016 though. They have a new one out this year called “Mountain Moves,” which I find pretty goddamn groovy too. Has a feature from Laetita Sadier from Stereolab. Always makes a sweet feature, that one. Like on “Quick Canal” by Atlas Sound (one of my favorite songs of 2000-2010). Good shit. All-time favorite Deerhoof song is still “The Galaxist.” Goddamn fuck me that’s a slice of heaven right there. |

Funk bands? :) |

for my taste their apex is all of reveille. |
Quote:
Fuck yeah reveille. That’s their best album. But “The Galaxist” is my favorite song. Easy. |
Helium music.
Great drummer, but I kind of hate that band. |
