!@#$%! 06.21.2018 08:57 AM

wow, the group gets interesting. nobody a lock yet.

peru reportedly has to win against france later, and i would expect them to score (so varane might not net me a lot of points), but peru could conceivably stay alive by tying this one and winning the last one against australia, depending on other results + goal differentials. no?

gotta wait for the result to hash out all possible scenarios but we could end up with suprises.

france too much talent not to make it, but for me they didn’t really click on their first game either, even though they won. when they do click they will be unstoppable.

!@#$%! 06.21.2018 11:02 AM

posted earlier in the movie thread:

peru-france great first half. back and forth the first half hour then awesome mbappé goal. now france has peru against the ropes and unable to push forward.

carrillo seems injured and might get subbed out. obvious replacement would be farfan.

adding: france gelling nicely as a team

dont know this santamaria coming in?

OH HERE COMES FARFAN

..

farfan trying to break more ribs lol

-

this game back & forth—bananas

..

and démbélé comes in!

..

this arab ref an idjit. has dished out a bunch of yellow cards that just no. pogba?? this can cost france later.

!@#$%! 06.21.2018 11:56 AM

o man! peru the first south american team eliminated. a pity, because they played a great game today, but they threw away their chance against denmark with some stupid tactical decisions and now they must pay.

consolation prize is that varane gave me a clean sheet

anyway, now it’s time for argentina to wake the fuck up against croatia.

come ooooooooooooooon!!!

!@#$%! 06.21.2018 01:14 PM

ANOTHER relentless back and forth now these two whatta day

good for the game to have early fuckups i guess

caballero, fucksakes

omg enzo perez wtf

demonrail666 06.21.2018 02:11 PM

Bertrand 06.21.2018 02:40 PM

!@#$%! 06.21.2018 02:43 PM

meltdown

!@#$%! 06.21.2018 02:49 PM

wow. wowowow. wow.

h8kurdt 06.21.2018 02:51 PM

Argentina have been HORRENDOUS in this game. The reach of Sampaoli's management is "give it to Messi" and that's it. Fair play to Croatia they've kicked it up in this 2nd half.

!@#$%! 06.21.2018 02:54 PM

im not a coach and i dont have a winning formula to offer but i cant fathom how with so much individual talent argentina cannot find a winning formula

of course this is not just an argentina fuckup—croatia were well planted on the pitch and glorious in the attack.

(tired also of the pointless messi/ronaldo comparisons)

the ikara cult 06.21.2018 02:57 PM

This is just wonderful. I saw the first 30 mins and the last 25 or so but in those last 25 we had
Beauty from Luka the tax dodging legend
Otamendi booting the ball at Rakitic's head at point blank range, only for him to get up and so nearly drill another beauty in the top corner. I hope Otamendi has the book thrown at him for that shit, you can properly hurt someone by doing that.
Rakitic getting a nice bit of revenge with the third.
And FINALLY they're so confident they can bring on VEDRAN CORLUKA who gets booked after about 2 minutes.

Honestly one of my favourite 25 minutes of football for some time.

Fabregas just said they were playing 5 attackers and 5 defenders, didnt see the whole game but they were pretty disjointed.

More 5 attackers who couldn't attack and 5 defenders who couldn't defend

you must spread the football around before you give it to h8kurdt again.

Poor old Pablo Zabaleta, this is his first punditry gig for the BBC and he has to talk through that shambles

argentina wasted an early chance, but the game was pretty even until caballero gave away the goal

the second half... i just dont understand it

fatigue? a lack of morale?

would love to see a michael cox breakdown of this massive fail

mascherano stopping before the third goal with his hand up was pathetic

the ikara cult 06.21.2018 03:42 PM

haha yeah i saw that Mascherano offside appeal, hilarious, he knew he couldnt stop Rakitic so his brain ticked through it's list of go-to tricks and settled on appealing for offside.
I might go on the Iplayer and watch that second half again

Be fair, he did get them to the final 4 years ago, and they seemed to be suffering from the same dysfunctional relationship with him back then as well

no, that was sabella

right?

sampaoli won copa america #1 with CHILE

the ikara cult 06.21.2018 06:44 PM

It was his free kick in the quarter final right?

I do agree that this settles the fact Ronaldo is the player who can intimidate and drag lesser teammates to be better than they would ever be in a way that Messi cannot.

OH YOU MEAN MESSI

i thought you meant the coach

because the article lays the blame squarely at the coach’s feet, in spite of the headline. as sampaoli himself admitted today.

and aguero has come up in the argie newspapers shiting on sampaoli

sampaoli tried putting messi out and give him all the balls and therefore set themselves up for predictability(see:h8kurdt)

beyond what the article said, remember when they took out el kun? demonyo’s question is up there ^^^

why didnt they ADD higua instead of doing a man for man switch

o well. all is lost, as robert redford would say ha ha ha

tomorrow the vikings will send argentina to valhalla

LOL

i remember that. i certify it hasn’t been doctored.

here’s a cookie! :D

_slavo_ 06.22.2018 01:55 AM

Argentina was truly terrible yesterday. Playing 3-4-3 with such a poor midfield against one of the best midfield squads in the tournament (Modric-Rakitic-Perisic-Brozovic ... world class) is a suicide mission.

_tunic_ 06.22.2018 06:30 AM

bummer! I forgot to put the subs that were playing in my squad, so now I've lost 6 points. Or not really lost, but they are not counting.

shit, me too. I've got Xhaka on my bench and a Nigerian dude as well.

h8kurdt 06.22.2018 08:22 AM

Honestly, if Brazil had a manager with balls, like Alf Ramsey, who'd be willing to drop Neymar I reckon they'd be a better team. Coutinho is just wasted playing deep.

!@#$%! 06.22.2018 08:37 AM

im loving the var

where is that bitch neymars yellow card

if not for simulation he got it for his shitty tantrum lol

someone please punch him

someone call the colombians

_tunic_ 06.22.2018 09:21 AM

Belgian commentator said that Neymar during halftime in the tunnel waited for the referee to ask him about how to fix his haircut. Because he owns a hair studio
