It is an amazing cover. It is.

I'd give it a 3/5 in all honesty. Ghost is in my Top 5 rappers living. So I'm real critical. But it is a great concept. It's a "love" album. But he explores love, heartache, infidelity, sex, sex, sex, and even the thought of yr spouse dying. All of this is accompanied by "r&b" singers. But it's definitely a rap album.

Anyway, I like it a lot to be honest. But it's not his best either. I think it's far more interesting than BIG DOE REHAB though.

ps: the new Ghostface is way more interesting than the new Raekwon. I don't give a fuck what critics tell you.

SuperCreep 09.30.2009 10:58 PM

I found the new Raekwon ridiculously underwhelming given all the positive reception. It tries way too hard to be a classic Wu solo effort and it just...isn't there at all.

I'll give the new Ghostface a spin tomorrow probably.

God damn! Jealous as hell. The Nefertiti vinyl is probably my single most desired record. Ascension is also just too amazing...

All on vinyl from a boot sale:

Issac Hayes - Shaft

David Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars

David Bowie - Young Americans

David Bowie - Lodger

On a huge Bowie kick at the moment. Sadly, the Ziggy is pretty scratched up, but when I pointed this out to the guy he just said I could take it for free because I'm a regular and he couldn't really sell it knowing it was like that. Hopefully it'll play OK, but if not it didn't cost me anything...
