Wednesday, February 25th, 2009 from 8 to 9 PM the masked children of Interstate 5 Dead Air Fresheners join forces with the enigmatic cyber-prosetic Carpathian diva Jennifer Robin for a live radio and internet broadcast on the KPSU stalwart bastion program of moss-covered undergroundy goodness signal-to-noise-ratio!

Masks always look their sexiest on the radio.

We just added a live track recorded during our set on New Years Eve at M3∂ü5A on our Virb.com site.
We will soon be adding it to the myspace page, since Virb doesn't really get much traffic to speak of (the "new version" of Virb.com doesn't look as cool as it used to when I knew how to customize it, but the audio player is still there so I'm not gonna complain too much).

Anyway, we are currently recording our new LP, and this song will be on it in full one-inch analogue glory, but for now, enjoy the live loudness of a real Mellotron-toting space-rock outfit if that is your bag.

It's called "Second Ascension," and can be found here for now.

pbradley 03.10.2009 07:31 PM

omg random chords stuck together who cares

BOOK OF SHADOWS & LEAD SISTER II: Cathedral of Junk - Austin, Texas March 16, 2008 - CS (Ikuisuus, 2009)
"The Cathedral of Junk was started in 1988 in Austin Texas as a backyard art project and has continually grown ever since. Brett Humphrey of the band X=X set up this show and when one of the bands backed out at the last moment I asked the band Lead Sister II (Joshua Hume) to play even though I had never met him. I saw that Lead Sister II was on the Ikuisuus label, liked his music, and figured since we both lived in Austin we should play a show together!! It turned out that it was his last day in Austin before moving to Japan. He was a very thoughtful polite young guy who played very intriguing music so now we have this cassette release on Ikuisuus of two great Austin Texas bands meeting each other and playing together for the first time!!! Enjoy." - Carlton Crutcher, Book of Shadows

DeadDiscoDildo 04.14.2009 11:56 AM

Dude I see yr in atlanta, u ever hear of these bands??

The Judies, The NEC, Gringo Star, Sovus Radio, Kill Gordon, Jovontaes??!

dionysusundone 04.14.2009 01:31 PM

The NEC and Gringo Star I know, but not familiar with the other ones.

DeadDiscoDildo 04.14.2009 01:35 PM

Sovus Radio is dead, but they were friends with those cats. If u like the NEC, they are but a shadow of Sovus Radio.

Judies are my friends band

Kill Gordon is another dead one, NEC and Ski Club were formed out of members of Kill Gordon.

all good shit

yr town has a great scene man

dionysusundone 04.14.2009 02:03 PM

Yeah there's some cool stuff going on here, but you have to weed through all the Black Lips wannabes to find 'em.

DeadDiscoDildo 04.14.2009 04:31 PM

Haha, that's probably true. But the Black Lips kick ass

Here's my band. Though I don't think many people on here would like it.
We just released a new single.

batreleaser 04.14.2009 05:57 PM

i dont have time for bands but ive been recording myself doing electric guitar and contact mic improvisations on my boombox, generally just start with a riff that im familiar with and then just change up the patterns after a while, all in variations of volume and style and such. it doesnt sound too good so far. i think im gonna go under "rectal rotations".

This time it's for-frickin'-real!

The masked children of Interstate 5 Dead Air Fresheners join forces with Caprathian prosetress of the futuristic and surreal Jennifer Robin for an internet and radiowave reading of the sub-psychic tea leaves.

The radio show signal-to-noise-ratio on Portland's KPSU plays host to this broadcast and streaming event on Wednesday, April 29th at 8 PM (Pacific Time).

Hi! I'm very excited and proud to be responsible for approximately 1/4 of the music presented in this new release from Bennifer Editions. I wish I had better pictures of the book because the artwork is incredible, even by Bennifer standards. The music ain't too shabby either. Get it here (if you have the ¥£$ to spare(which you probably don't)): http://www.altvinyl.com/details.asp?rId=29341&returnurl=search%2Easp%3Fkey word%3Dbennifer%2Beditions%26amp%3BsearchType%3D3% 26amp%3Baction%3Dsubmit%26amp%3Bp%3D1

Record Of The Week: MAN MADE HILL / LEAD SISTER / DOLPHINS INTO THE FUTURE / CROWN NOW "Bennifer Editions Anthology 2009" 2 x Cassette + Heavy Book ( Bennifer Editions )
Toronto's Bennifer Editions label has come along and blown our collective socks clean off with its eye-popping, off-the-wall approach to presenting ear-shattering, off-the-wall music. Quite simply, NO-ONE is doing what this label do, which is creating the most staggering music-art-dream artefacts this side of the universe.. Can't really urge you enough to hop aboard this insane and utterly GOOD train. This release is a double-cassette anthology featuring four acts - Dolphins Into The Future, Crown Now, Lead Sister and Man Made Hill. Each side is pretty thrilling but it's the first side, from Man Made Hill which has left us completely speechless. Like some bizarre conjunction between Mudboy, Blood Stereo and Orphan Fairytale, this one boggles the lugs from square one, and just goes up and UP and UUUUUUUPPPPPPPPPP. All of this glorious music comes with a hand-made art book / screen-play, all beautifully screen-printed and stuffed full of the most ludicrous, brain-punishing imagery, supersonic colour mashing, and mind-melting pop-scum butchery, and the whole effect is just.... well, it makes everything else seem dull by comparison. Place this brick of cosmic desire at the gable-end of your soul and enjoy a richer, more meaningful life.
