GB is the best. Well GBA is since it plays GB/GBC as well.

SP is even better, it is way handier and has build in light

Dr. Eugene Felikson 12.27.2009 01:45 PM

Anyone have or ever play a Gameboy micro? I definitely wouldn't mind picking up one of these, but I'm worried that it just might be too small.

The thing isn't much bigger than a GBA cartridge, and the customizable faceplates look fun enough.

EDIT: IGN has some great size comparison pics, if anyone is interested.

That's too small. I don't fancy the idea of having to play a game through a magnifying glass.

yeah mine is an SP. Though I use the Game Boy Player for Gamecube going into a 15" widescreen monitor more than anything else these days.

Micro sucks. Can barely read text (no RPG's) and it DOES NOT play GB/GBC games.

Yeah, I figured that the size of the screen may be a problem.

it is especially considering the great 16-bit RPG ports on the GBA. Fucking squint-city, my man.

Toilet & Bowels 12.28.2009 03:06 PM

I ended up getting a used copy of Tomb Raider Legends for gamecube so I started in on that. I also got a copy of Mario Kart 64 but man it feels like a huge setback from Mario Kart Double Dash, graphics wise. Was gamecube really that huge of a step up in that department?

I don't know, but it needs to be made into a full-length game with a two player mode where one player controls Mario and one controls the blocks.

I played it. Just got really annoying when I was using my keyboard.

noisereductions 01.04.2010 09:43 PM

I tend to think this one gets much better with age. It was actually the first Zelda I owned back when it was released. But I found it much too hard. Very soon after I got the first Zelda, and fell in love with that one instead. But this is actually a damn good game.

man, I wish I played the adventure of link. The first I owned was A Link to the Past. I just beat Spirit Tracks and now I'm playing Ocarina of Time for the first time on the 64'.

noisereductions 01.05.2010 08:13 AM

Link To The Past is my favorite. Followed closely by Wind Waker. Honestly every game in the series is awesome in its own way.

phoenix 01.05.2010 08:18 AM

adventure of link was fucking hard. I dont think I ever finished. My NES is long gone.

I know! It is really hard. I think that's why I wanted to play it again, cuz even though I've had it for like 20 yrs, I don't think I ever beat it! There's a lot of strategy involved in the fighting. Almost like in Punch-Out, you need to watch the enemy's attack patterns and figure out how to block or counter so that you can safely attack them. It's not as easy as just hack n slash.

EVOLghost 01.05.2010 01:26 PM

Is adventure of Link the side scroller? Oh man. that shit was fuckin' hard.

anywho.

@NR: I do hacve Tactics advanced....just no GBA. I'm currently lurkin' teh ebay for some cheap ones.....THough it's fuckin' hard right now since I don't have a job or much money. There was a Zelda GBDS Lite that went for like 80 bucks. I kind of really wanted that one.

if you get a GBA rather than a DS then you can also play GB/GBC color games. Think about the library. It's way worth it, man.

Windwaker was awesome, makes me want to get a gamecube for that reason alone. I played it at my friend's place all the time and it's my favorite Zelda that I've tried set in a 3d environment. That's why I want to get Phantom Hourglass, it's basically the same concept as windwaker.
