CHOUT 08.26.2007 02:34 AM

someone's had to have done that by now!

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.26.2007 02:39 AM

You'd think so.

I slept with a guitar once. I was playing it while in bed, and I didn't want to get out of bed to put it away.

The guitar was cold to me though when I tried to cuddle :(

CHOUT 08.26.2007 02:41 AM

yeah, its sad when inatimate objects reject you. :(

I am gonna put some photocells hooked up to stereo jacks in the pickguard so that your hand movement over the strings while strumming can control an expression pedal. Notice where I had to put the 6th tuner.

that looks cool.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.30.2007 10:46 PM

CHOUT, you still rocking the Deluxe Big Muff? I've been thinking about getting a soul preacher sometime, and I know that is the same compressor that is built into the DBM.

I made some pedal demos!

k-krack 08.30.2007 10:52 PM

I just got a rad Boss delay pedal. I've been having so much fun with it.

I still have it, but I've been using the Large Beaver and my od channel on the new amp. I didn't really use the compressor on the DBM, I'd blend the clean comp 'channel' to mix with the fuzz though. I may put it back on my board sometime.

The link didn't work for me.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.30.2007 11:52 PM

Really? the link works for me.

try this

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.31.2007 02:19 PM

Nice man.

ondskan 08.31.2007 02:44 PM

Any opinions on Danelectro Grilled Cheese, French Toast, Wasabi Distortion or Digitech Grunge?

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.31.2007 02:55 PM

I've played all of those besides the Wasabi Distortion.

I hate the grilled cheese. Sounds like a distortion with a crappy wah on.

The French Toast is cool, but I sort of think it needs a little more volume on tap. I've been trying to sell mine to no avail. Might just keep it and mod it later.

The digitech Grunge is alright. It is pretty much what you'd expect. In your face, ugly, loud, grungy distortion.

nicfit 08.31.2007 02:58 PM

A friend of mine told me that the Boss HM-3 can work really good as a bass distortion becuz it does not cut lower frequencies and stuff.
Comments on that?
And buzzo, hm-2 vs hm-3 , any ideas?

soapbars 08.31.2007 03:04 PM

my dod grunge is shit,

i like it, but it is bad in a bad way, not bad in a good way, you know,

i hardly ever bother plugging it in, and when i do its for an hour or so, then i remember how crap it is,

you can get much better for the same money,

fuck cheap pedals, get a rat,

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.31.2007 08:01 PM

well, according to guitar geek swervedriver used the HM-2 so did JAMC's bassist in the later days (he modded it though, theres a quote)

Both of my orders shipped, they just need to arrive, which will take like 10 days...

haha the grunge pedal is hillarious. i just love the old dod pedals they crack me up, their names are just the opposite of what the pedal sounds like...

this is hillarious: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WcsV7hQ1V4

kinda like the grunge pedal, just not crazy enough...

king_buzzo 09.01.2007 05:00 AM

Hey can multi effect pedals be circuit bent? I wanna try it out!

king_buzzo 09.02.2007 06:01 AM

baaaampz.

king_buzzo 09.02.2007 02:42 PM

which one? the new dd series or the old dm series???

wha about JMC 900's anyone like/use them? there's a cheap-ish one close by,,,

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 09.02.2007 03:03 PM

No clue man.

If I was gonna get a Marshall, I'd get a JTM 45 or maybe a JCM 800

king_buzzo 09.02.2007 03:32 PM

My intention wasnt that of: 'I wanna buy a marshall' I simply stumbled onto it in a vintage guitar store (which btw is killer) and it costed just as much as the new vox AC15 which i was intending to buy.

CHOUT 09.02.2007 03:45 PM

I'll have my memory man tomorrow.
edit: actually I'll have it tuesday, on account of it being labor day tomorrow.

king_buzzo 09.02.2007 04:17 PM

awesome, you gotta take some clipz.

still waiting on the 2 items to arrive.

king_buzzo 09.03.2007 07:24 AM

I might try to mod my muff to sound like a Creamy Dreamer

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 09.04.2007 04:13 AM

Chout do you have a space drum?

No, I just had that pic saved.

Got the Memory Man today...It's awesome. I love putting the feedback on the crest of self oscillation and making sound splatters.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 09.04.2007 09:03 PM

I'll probably get a DMM eventually, just because they are gonna stop making them in a few years.

CHOUT 09.04.2007 09:23 PM

I'm sure the prices will get huge for them after they are discontinued.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 09.04.2007 09:49 PM

Yeah, definitely.

Cantankerous 09.04.2007 10:10 PM

lately i've been using a lot of fuzzbox, delay, and reverb (not necessarily all at the same time) but it changes periodically.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 09.04.2007 10:24 PM

I have been using delay less recently, and have been doing a lot of quickly tapping a pedal on for just half a bar.

I've been trying to use effects more as extension of the instrument than just something that sits on top of what you are playing.

Cantankerous 09.04.2007 10:26 PM

and also i've been playing a lot more on the acoustic guitar

CHOUT 09.05.2007 03:15 AM

shiiit, there's a 70s competition red Mustang for $300 and a Micromoog for $250 on my local craigslist right now...wish I had some money...had to sell my Deville for rent.

king_buzzo 09.05.2007 04:03 AM

fuck, thats cheap for a mustang.

CHOUT 09.05.2007 01:45 PM

Yeah, Id nab it if i could...the micromoog is gone now.

CHOUT 09.05.2007 04:04 PM

Fuuuuck!

Total coincidence, I got my rent damage deposit back today for nearly $400,,,I nearly ran to the computer after seeing it to contact the guy about the mustang...probably taken by now but I'm waiting to hear from him.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 09.05.2007 05:55 PM

Good luck man!
