Because Dharma is cute?

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 09.09.2015 07:27 PM

Sure that is definitely part of it. I also am a deadhead so i have an affinity with the dad, indeed my momz used to joke that i would grow up to be him. The funniest character is Ed Montgomery

By sheer coincidence i just watched a few hours of this show for the first time. While it confirmed my long time suspicions that Claire Dannes can NOT act for shit, i found it a decent enough show to watch three episodes albeit strikingly cliched

gmku 09.14.2015 06:40 PM

We've got Homeland Season 4 on its way from Neflix. Yay.

The opener of Longmire's new season SUCKED, but the following episodes have been great.

gmku 09.14.2015 07:36 PM

Claire, Claire, Claire... I have such a dirty ol' man crush on you. You are my 90s sweetheart and you always will be.

<3. Sigh...

The Gamechangers

Tonight on BBC 2 at 21:00 Western European Summer Time (22:00
Central European Summer Time)

The Gamechangers

This 90-minute factual drama goes behind the scenes of the hit video
game Grand Theft Auto, arguably the greatest British coding success
since Bletchley Park.

In autumn 2013, the game's latest iteration - GTA: V - earned $1bn in
just three days, becoming the fastest-selling entertainment product in
history. But this drama goes back to 2002, to tell the story of a three
year period of intense controversy in the history of this iconic game's
development. It happened when two passionate men on either side of a
high-stakes cultural divide clashed. This conflict, between the creative
genius behind the game and a self-styled crusader for American
morality, escalated into a fight for the hearts, minds and freedoms of an
entire gaming generation.

The Gamechangers stars Daniel Radcliffe and Bill Paxton. It is intended
for an adult audience and is part of the BBC's Make It Digital season. It
is unauthorised by the producers of Grand Theft Auto.

ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT SEASON 4 -- Now that I've had a few years to get over the differences between this and the others, I can really appreciate how this fits together like a brilliant jigsaw puzzle. And like jigsaw puzzles, some patches are more interesting than others, but it's the whole that's the thing. This season is pretty mindblowing.

Plus there's a bunch of jokes I missed the first time around, like in a Buster episode when he's having an ambiguous relationship with Lucille 2--she's coming on to him for sex, he thinks she's talking about food. He gets frustrated and says, "Is this another one of those nights where nothing is as it seems and there's no creampie for dessert?"

gmku 09.17.2015 06:47 PM

Wow, Carrie sure turned into a hardcore coldhearted bitch. What's that about? (Opener, Season 4, Homeland)

New series of This is England. Good god is it bleak.

evollove 10.06.2015 09:23 AM

Curious:

DOCUMENTARY NOW - Clever, even nerdy, concept. Mediocre execution, especially considering the talent involved (Armisted, Hader, Myers). A few chuckles.

SCREAM QUEENS - Surprisingly hilarious. Ten times better than it needs to be. The dialogue is really good. Like, VEEP good. I think because it's on network TV, the profanity prohibition really spurns some smart banter.

So, the one I thought would be good wasn't so much and vice versa.

Rob Instigator 10.06.2015 09:51 AM

Started in on Gotham. so far so good.

constantly re-watching Trailer Park Boys....

FARGO, season 2

demonrail666 10.21.2015 04:06 PM

Just finished 1st season of Game of Thrones

Couldn't get into it

Rob Instigator 10.21.2015 04:47 PM

GoT is not about fantasy sword and sorcery. it is more like HOuse of Cards than Conan. I like it because it explores the power dynamics in the world it creates, how some gain it, lose it, and have it taken away. Once I got over the fact that it was not going to wow me with sword and sorcery action I got into it. There are still boring parts though....

demonrail666 10.22.2015 12:04 AM

I get that, I just found the political side, for all its complexity, a bit hollow in its apparently relentless cynicism. I dunno, maybe it changes in later seasons but I pretty quickly realised that I didn't really care about any of the characters (except maybe the dwarf guy, I liked him), and was getting a bit bored with all the softcore sex and hardcore violence.

Rob Instigator 10.22.2015 09:00 AM

hahaha, I felt and feel the same way. I like the escapism though

demonrail666 10.22.2015 04:19 PM

Worst thing for me was seeing the bloke who played Conan in the remake who's meant to be playing some super warrior, but does precisely fuck all for the entire season, before dying after his wife smothers him with a pillow. A pillow, for fuck's sake. It's like having Sauron perish choking on a bacon sandwich. I know you said it's more than just swords and axes but they build him up and I was at least expecting to see him indulge in some serious barbarity, but nothing. A pillow.

Rob Instigator 10.22.2015 04:26 PM

I cannot disagree. I am irritated at GoT just as often as I am intrigued

well, the pillow isn't exactly the main reason for his demise..but I get what you meant.

demonrail666 10.27.2015 04:28 AM

Addicted to the Mystery Diners series.Impossible to defend on any level but I can't stop watching.

ilduclo 10.27.2015 09:56 AM

first season of Happy-ish. Some magnificent comedy.

We've been watching NBC's, Blindspot. The first three episodes were outstanding and the the last couple were just so so......but I think it's headed in the right direction.

Rob Instigator 11.13.2015 05:45 PM

Been watching the surprisingly funny Aziz Ansari show on Netflix, Master of None

gmku 11.17.2015 04:15 PM

Gotham

What a great show!

Caught up on Season 1 via Netflix and now we're into Season 2.

Rob Instigator 11.17.2015 04:20 PM

Gotham is unhinged insanity at its best!!!

gmku 11.17.2015 05:17 PM

Yes, it is. I've been impressed with the novel approach to the Batman story.

Has anyone been watching HBO's Vinyl? I've been enjoying it, even though its been getting a lot of mixed reception. I'm curious what some of you guys think of this show.

Wait, is season 2 on? I finished Season 1 in January, and even though the show failed to deliver on a lot of its promise, I still thought it was of to a good start, and I wanted more.

Not sure why folks are being so hard on it. It's well written and fairly well crafted, surprisingly well acted at times. A good series, but for anyone expecting Breaking Bad version 2.0 (or, -1, er whatever), I can see how they'd be disappointed.

pepper_green 10.26.2016 06:56 PM

X-files.

skipped over the ones I've seen and focused on the mythology. made it to season seven. the season when Mulder finally tries to hit on Scully. when she's out of that stupid uniform she's a real fine beauty to behold but, she seems to fall for psychos. can't figure Mulder out. did he give up, content jacking off to porn? he could totally bag Scully and make her his. he's a confident witty guy. da fuck!!... tis was the 90's after all. oh dream woman Scully!!! you get my rocks off.

reminds me of a joke: there's two kinds of redheads.....

LifeDistortion 10.26.2016 07:17 PM

The answer to your questions are answered...in season 9. I think you can skip season 8.

pepper_green 10.26.2016 07:27 PM

enticing! thanks. can't wait to catch up.

ilduclo 10.31.2016 04:10 PM

been getting a kick out of a couple of comedies. Letterkenny, about a passle of young hicks up in rural Canada, and Fleabag about a horny 30 year old cafe owner in London. Both of these are worth a watch
