hmm a turbo rat will get me the mbv 'sometimes' chuggy sound no?

CHOUT 03.18.2007 03:35 PM

Got one of these yesterday for $30 off the price. Pretty sweet.

to king_buzzo :

theres a good chance it will, ive only got a 'vintage rat' but you can get alot of different fuzz and distortion sounds from it, and when used with reverb/never letting go of the trem arm, you can get alot of different valentine-esque sounds.

though im going say what everyone says and go and try it out if you can.

So Buzzo, given the description of what I need on H-C, is a booster pedal still what I'm looking for do you think?

king_buzzo 03.18.2007 04:00 PM

i think you might need either a treble boost, or either another pedal. if you want 'trebley' its either those 2...

demonrail666 03.18.2007 04:02 PM

Cheers.

I've heard that the Zakk Wylde wahwah got a reeeeeeally deep sound. But i don't know, any other suggestions on pedals? Right now i'm really into the Mudhoney-sound, guess it's big muffs all the way?

scott v 03.19.2007 01:01 AM

I've heard decent things about the morley power wah, mostly the older models... i have an original cry baby that i hardly use, but don't want to let it go yet... i don't like how wahs color my tone but the do great things, i modded my crybaby so it jumps out and gets loud when it is engaged.

ok, i just got a Boss Bass Overdrive (ODB-3) since it was used price and i liked the fact that it has a balance for the dry/overdrive signals, and the eq is nice for my detuned guitar... the overdrive is difficult for me to get a nice sound, but wow the eq is nice and alone with some gain acts like a booster pedal when put after another distortion pedal. together w/ my DOD deathmetal it sounds like 100 marshalls on fire.

any old kind of reverb or chorus pedal will do on the guitar. sometimes i use a superfuzz.

bass - mostly no f/x, sometimes fuzz/overdrive.

i'm not real particular as to what brand. pedals are not my bag, baby.
