So, just to step back a bit, have the Trumpists on this thread, in light of Trump's latest tweets which CONFIRM the reason for that meeting with the Russians, said "there was no collusion" recently?

Skuj 08.06.2018 05:24 PM

(In case you missed it, Gates just testified that he and Manafort committed crimes together. Both worked for Trump during the campaign. The Best People.)

So, even after 18 months of Trumpism, Ohio votes GOP.

We are doomed, right?

Please explain this to me, SYG people.

Sadly, you and many others have been sucked in by the hype machine.

The same machine that duped so many into believing Donal Trump didn’t have a chance in the last election.

Consumed by bitterness, willing to grasp at Muller’s straws of emptiness.

But you have your popcorn......at least you have that!!!

accounts i read this morning on the washington post (not a republican paper) claim the victory was razor-thin in a solidly red district.

(i can attest. i used to have a girlfriend from ohio. and her dad was.... almost archie bunker lolol)

in fact ballots remain to be counted and democrat has not conceded.

anyway the wapo spin says the result shows a strong gain for democrats regardless of who ends up winning.

other results show progressive insurgency has not caught on in the midwest (see axios link i posted above) as democrats chose moderates in their primaries. (which makes sense, as the midwest is not brooklyn,)

seymour here: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...ays-elections/

this came in this morning’s wall street journal email. please note, the wsj is a rupert murdoch property and not a leftist kind of anything:

1.
Tight Race in Ohio Is Setback for GOP: Republican Troy Balderson claimed a razor-thin victory over Democrat Danny O’Connor in an Ohio House district that President Trump won by 11 percentage points in 2016—however, the Associated Press says the race is too close to call.

No matter the final outcome, the special election’s narrow margin could foreshadow trouble for the GOP’s effort to keep control of the House this November. Democrats need to win 23 seats from the GOP to take a majority.

In other races Tuesday, the closely watched Republican gubernatorial primary in Kansas also was headed to a photo finish with Kris Kobach, the state’s secretary of state, running neck and neck with Gov. Jeff Colyer. President Trump backed Mr. Kobach.

1) Ohio. it was captured by the Repubs about 10 years ago. A funny state. One thing they did was purge all Democrats from any job they could. My uncle lost his job of 15 years as a prison psychologist. "to the victor goes the spoils"
2) gerrymandered as fuck
3) full of hill people from KY and AR

no, not at all doomed. Dems need to step up, if Dump campaigns a state race, so should E Warren, the Castro brothers, Biden

still, damned close in a place where Dump won easily in 2oi6, so actually good news.

also, not over yet

WASHINGTON — The congressional special election in Ohio is down to the wire.

With 100 percent of precincts reporting Tuesday night, the candidates were separated by 1,754 votes, making the race too close to call, NBC News projected.

Republican Troy Balderson had 50 percent, or 101,574 votes, while Democrat Danny O'Connor had 49 percent, or 99,820 votes. But more than 3,400 provisional votes and 5,048 outstanding absentee ballots — nearly quadruple the margin — remained to be counted. State law bars boards of elections from counting those ballots until the 11th day after an election.

Even if Balderson does hold on to his tiny margin, this is very good news for Democrats, especially going into the fall, since O'Connor did insanely well in a district gerrymandered to give Rs a heavy advantage, and in a race where Republicans outspent the Dems. Rs have held the seat for 80 years with one brief intermission, and since this was a special election to serve out the term of Pat Tiberi, who retired earlier this year to do Literally Anything Else, Balderson and O'Connor will go at it again in November.

"Rep. Chris Collins (R-N.Y.) was indicted Wednesday on insider-trading charges stemming from his position on the board of directors of a drug company whose signature drug suffered a surprising failed trial."

"The case involves Innate Immunotherapeutics, an Australian biotech company that was testing the drug MIS416 for treatment of multiple sclerosis."

https://www.washingtonpost.com/polit...ing-indictment

any guess as when these trades took place?

I know I shouldn't do this, I won't convince you to change your mind about things,......but......

You do know that there is a trial going presently, right? And I'm willing to bet that Mueller wins this trial.

Right?

Manifart trial " Tax expert Welch said he also looked at the income that was never brought into the United States. He said he was "conservative" in what he allowed as possible business expenses — including 132,000 euros to a yacht company, $49,000 for an Italian villa rental, $45,000 for cosmetic dentistry and $19,800 for a riding academy — because he heard "no testimony" explaining their purpose.
