"I'm Back"

40 points in 37 minutes......first game in two weeks = MVP

Steph Curry's 17 points is the most in any overtime game, regular season or playoffs = NBA History!

Stephen Curry is the first Warriors reserve to score 40 points in a playoff game since starts were first recorded in 1970-71......just the 2nd player in past 30 years to score 40+ point (37 minutes) coming off the bench.

Warriors scored 21 points in OT, tied for the second-most ever by a team in a playoff OT period in the Shot Clock Era (since 1954-55).

Warriors improve to 11-0 this season (regular-season and postseason) in games following a loss.

Last two postseasons, the Warriors in Games 4 and beyond in each series: 10-1.

Warriors join the Bulls in 1995-96 and 1996-97 as the only teams in NBA history to earn at least 80 combined wins in back-to-back seasons.

Points scored in OT in the NBA tonight:
• Steph Curry (17)
• Trail Blazers (14)
• Raptors & Heat COMBINED (15)

ICE IN HIS VEINS.
ICE IN HIS BRAIN.

Stephen Curry's 40 points by period:
Q1: 4 points on 2-6
Q2: 7 points on 3-7
Q3: 2 points on 1-5
Q4: 10 points on 4-7
OT: 17 points on 6-7

Charles Barkley Chuck compared that Steph performance to Lebron killing the Pistons 10 years ago.

Michael Wilbaun said he was sitting court-side when a rookie Magic Johnson played center (filling in for Kareem) against Philadelphia and Curry's performance was better / more dramatic!

Curry's Equivalent To Jordan's Flu Game Or Maybe A Different Type Of Greatness

Stephen Curry turned Rip City into R.I.P. City!

Draymond on the Blazers: "Do I think they're done. Of course I think they're done!"

Damion Lilard: "We played probably our best game of the playoffs and lost. That's why they won 73 games."

Speaking of, the Portland Trailblazers would easily be the 2nd best team in the East.

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 05.10.2016 09:59 AM

Comparing a semis game against Dame Lillard and a cast of D League players to Magic or Jordan in Finals??

EXACTLY my point about how weak the East is!

Bytor Peltor 05.10.2016 12:07 PM

Everyone agrees......Steph Curry becomes the first unanimous MVP in NBA history, 11th back-to-back winner ever.

Most impressive / impossible when you consider how difficult it is for 130 people to singularly agree on anything.

Back-to-back MVPs: Russell, Wilt, Kareem, Moses, Bird, Magic, Jordan, Duncan, Nash, LeBron, Steph.

Steph Curry joins Tom Brady (2010 NFL MVP) and Wayne Gretzky (1982 Hart Trophy winner) as only unanimous MVP's in their respective leagues.

Magic Johnson: "Congratulations to my good friend Mark Jackson, who showed he deserves another coaching job as the last defense that could stop Steph! Wow!"

Your point is wrong. I think you misunderstanding.. portland is the team full of d league players!
East has been more competitive than west. East has a winning record against west. Three of the worst teams in entire NBA were in West.

You're living in the past. This is THIS season not last season or before that

East Bottom Three Combing For 63 Wins
NY Knicks 32-50
Brooklyn 21-61
Philly 10-72

West Bottom Three Combining For 69 Wins
Minnesota 29-53
Phoenix 23-59
LA Lakers 17-61

LeBron & Lowry are the ONLY TWO players from the EAST in the Top 10 of MVP Votes......Portland DESTROYS Miami, Toronto or Atlanta!

I've always agreed that the East is better this season compared to previous seasons......so the East won a few more games in the regular season = the Houston Rockets sweeping the San Antonio Spurs during the regular season the year they won their last Championship when they humiliated the Heat......in the post-season, it really doesn't matter!

Of course reg season matters! Also.. post season counts but you have to include ENTIRE post season, not just Finals. Many are arguing, "Oh West wins the Championship so West is better."

NO. That just means the single best team was in West, not necessarily says anything about Conferences.

However I am glad you agree East was better than West this year. I am sorry. Detroit would beat Portland in playoff series. Atlanta would beat Portland in playoff series. Yes. Its true. Don't let the game Portland stole from Warriors mislead you.

NO......that's not what I said! I'm agreeing that the East is better this season compared to the East in previous seasons. The East improved (but how could they not), but STILL extremely weak compared to the West!

Rob Instigator 05.10.2016 03:29 PM

It all sucks. I have never been so bored by NBA playoffs.... I am dying for NFL to return. Hopefully the Rio Olympics will not be a catastrophe and provide some sort of relief for my sports mind.

Nonsense. East had winning record against West, had better aggregate record than West, and better playoff seeding than West.

Just because Spurs and Warriors are so good doesn't mean their Conference is the best. Indeed if you ask me the opposite is true. Their records are inflated

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 05.10.2016 04:32 PM

Just google it, many many articles proving the point.

Bytor Peltor 05.12.2016 09:17 AM

The inter-webs were all abuzz about this last night:

Can you play any better defence:

Klay Thompson has his seventh-straight 20-point game, extending the longest postseason 20-point streak of his career

Before the season started, Vegas had Portland's season win total at 22.5......won 44

Yeah. (A) why is one of best shooters ever in single coverage? Double team. Indeed Curry should be trapped here. (B) if you're gonna gamble on man to man on curry how you can give him almost three feet of space? Body up on him. Stay close, press him hard on every possession

Bytor Peltor 05.12.2016 04:58 PM

NO......you didn't watch!

As Steph crossed half-court, he was picked up with strong man-2-man coverage that Gary Peyton would be proud of. Steph started to penetrate, dribbled behind his back as he stepped back to fire another three. Steph pulled this move a couple of times to different defenders......they looked as helpless as The Admiral trying to guard Dream!

I'm 100% sure Klay & Dray would LOVE for OKC/Spurs to double team Steph at the half court line = Dubs cake walking into the NBA Finals!

Curry Came At The King-DIDN'T MISS-And Now LesBron Is Chasing The Throne

Charles Oakley still running his mouth this week saying Michael Jordan is not a fan of the Crying Jordan meme:

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 05.12.2016 05:27 PM

Again man to man ain't gonna work on steph, he always do that little back up and shoot thing. Trap the shit out of him and take your chances on it being anyone but Curry. Also really and truly teams just got to stop falling for those draymond green drives. He kicks it out every single time. Stay on the other guys and live with a layup. Better than continually giving up wide open 3s..

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 05.12.2016 05:30 PM

I believe Bad Boys or 2012 Heat had the kind of hyper trap, hyper rotation defense that could give Warriors many problems. Peak Jordan Bulls obviously with Scottie and Jordan picking on Klay and Steph for pride alone. Other than that, yeah, they as a team shoot too damned well. Still got to follow fundamentals.

Bytor Peltor 05.13.2016 08:18 AM

1643......regular season and postseason games played.

Tim Duncan on his future: "I'll get to that when I get out of here and figure life out."

If Tim does walk away, truly the end of an era with the likes of Kobe Bryant, KG and Paul Pierce all retiring......only a few players remain who played against Jordan as a Bull or Dream as a Rocket or Stockton & Malone.

Things that didn't exist yet when Duncan was a rookie: Google, MP3 players, iMac

In his first NBA playoffs, Billy Donovan wins three consecutive games to eliminate Gregg Popovich.

Western Confrence Finals
Last time these two organizations met in playoffs, Shawn Kemp & Ricky Pierce led Sonics in scoring while Tim Hardaway & Šarūnas Marčiulionis led the scoring for GSW.

Skip "The Idiot" Bayless: "Not sure the Thunder can win a single game against the Warriors."

IF (and it's a big IF) OKC can reach and win the NBA Finals, it will probably be the greatest postseason run in NBA History.

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 05.13.2016 09:44 AM

Okc has been Spurs kryptonite for years

Attention Golden State Warriors

Bytor Peltor 05.17.2016 09:48 AM

Game One

Westbrook and Durant combined to go 17-of-51 from the floor......yet OKC won because of ONE reason......OKC only had 2 turnovers in 2nd Half (12 for the game).

Durant played 46 minutes, the most he has played in the playoffs so far is 44. Most in the regular season (non-OT): 43.

Russell Westbrook finished with more assists than Steph, Klay, and Draymond. Combined.

Continuing from the Spurs series, OKC held GSW to 102 points on about 105 possessions......VERY impressive for OKC to go down double-digits on the road vs. two of the best teams in history and respond......long as Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook never leave the floor again for the rest of the playoffs, OKC just might have a chance!

Warriors' 42 second-half points and 14 fourth-quarter points are both GSW 2016 playoff lows.

Oklahoma City overcame a 14-point deficit, the largest comeback against the Warriors this postseason

Curry was 1 for 6 in the fourth quarter, Klay was 0 for 4......GSW won't win many games like that, of course, the odds of it happening again are slim!

"Who is: Steve Kerr?"

Doubt this happens again:

Sooooo much respect for Billy Donovan, who’s doing this all on the fly!

Steven Adams chooses the wrong words to describe the Warriors' guards. "They're quick little monkeys," he says.

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 05.17.2016 10:31 AM

Adams is from New Zealand he didn't mean anything racist by it.

^^^hadn't heard that story!

Warriors are now 12-0 this season in games following a loss.

65-win teams are 9-0 in Game Two after losing Game One in a best-of-7 series.

Last night the Warriors outscored OKC 61-42 in 2nd half (Thunder outscored Warriors 61-42 in 2nd half of Game 1).

Portland had success with the smalls against the Warriors and OKC might consider going small and defensive anytime Steph threatens.

The MVP scored 15 points in 1:58......had right elbow wrapped when he answered post game questions:

Russ looking a bit......

Twenty years ago, the Major Network (NBC) would have made them play Games 3 & 4 on back-to-back days at OKC this Saturday and Sunday. Having three days off is a bit ridiculous.

LeBron James teams have a 20-2 series record when winning Game 1 (last loss: 2011 NBA Finals)

Cavs are the 1st team since '00-02 Lakers to win 16 straight playoff games within their own conference.

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 05.19.2016 02:46 PM

Im increasingly thinking Cavs can win it all which i would have said was impossible even jist two months ago

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 05.19.2016 02:49 PM

And no i agree with Barkley OKC should NOT go small. Warriors are best small ball team in NBA, if they win it all they overtake Heat as best small ball team all time!! OKC can't match that and all Portland got was one win. OKC won Game 1 same way Grizzlies won 2 games and Cavs won Games 2 and 3 of last Finals, staying big and bludgeoning Dubs on the boards.

Indeed if Cavs are gonna beat Dubs its gonna be on backs of Love, Frye, and possibly resurgence of Mozgov off the bench.

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 05.20.2016 09:00 AM

Its funny everyone wanna go with the old trope "Oh Raptors suck the East sucks" and NEVER ONCE CONSIDERED MAYBE THE EAST DOESN'T SUCK AS MUCH AS THAT MAYBE LEBRON HAS JUST BEEN THAT GOOD??

Also who in the world things the Mavs, Grizzlies, Blazers, or Rockets were world beaters???

Bytor Peltor 05.22.2016 08:32 AM

Teams that lost Games 1 & 2 in Confrence Finals by 15+ Points are now 6-1 in Game 3's......However, each of previous six lost series.

Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan outscored the Cavaliers "Big 3" 52-40 in Game 3.

Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving were 4-28 in Game 3, their worst combined FG pct as teammates (14.3%).

Kyrie Irving was holding his sternum area in a slow walk to locker room

Last night was the first time this postseason the Cavaliers have failed to score 100 Points.

Raptors' Bismack Biyombo ties Rockets' Dwight Howard (2015) & Hakeem Olajuwon (1988) for most rebounds (26) in a playoff game since 1984.

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 05.22.2016 03:21 PM

Props to Raptors for silencing the media haters and they should be proud of a fantastic season however i think folks shouldn't sleep on Cavs title chance because Kyrie and Love had bad games when Toronto played a classic "kitchen sink game"..

Lue got too cocky should have called a few more timeouts and gathered the team.. should have attacked Biyambo more in the paint he ain't THAT good.

Cavs in 5 for this series and the Finals are still a coin flip unless someone gets actually hurt (Xavs continuing to say Kyrie is fine and considering there are legal implications in regars to NBA injury reports i trust that until further notice)

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 05.22.2016 03:23 PM

Also Lebron did just fine against Biyambo, it was Irving and Love who continually got stuffed

Bytor Peltor 05.22.2016 09:42 PM

Steven Adams blocked Stephen Curry's 1st 3-point attempt of Game 3. First time Curry has had a 3-pointer blocked in the playoffs.

OKC went up 25...following the flagrant they outscored Golden State 22-5 going to halftime.

It was the Warriors' largest halftime deficit, regular season or playoffs, since April 21, 2014 (26 points vs Clippers).

Total fouls called by end of the 3rd Q - OKC 19, GSW 17.

OKC's points in regulation vs. GSW this season: 108, 108, 106, 103, 91.
Tonight thru 3Q......117.

The Warriors have lost a lot of Game 3's......at Memphis and Cleveland last year and in Houston, Portland and OKC this year.

These two are just two wins away from having the opportunity of pulling off the greatest playoff run of all time!

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 05.23.2016 12:59 AM

Draymond is a bitch straight up. On the street Adams would fuck that loud mouthed dude up.. but props to OKC for proving it ON the COURT.

If Dubs aren't worried they should be, OKC is the first healthy contender they have faced in playoffs since 2014 Spurs spanked them. Point blank right now the Championship is a three way coin flip between OkC Dubs and Cavs. And a month ago i would have laughed at the impossibility of that.. now?

Bytor Peltor 05.24.2016 07:46 AM

For the 2nd straight Game, the Cav's fail to score 100 points.

It was during the final 5:28 of the game where LeBron didn’t score any of his 29 points.

Kyle Low-redemption

Most 35-Point Playoff Games
Raptors History
Kyle Lowry 4
Vince Carter 3
Chris Bosh 1

Notice Coach Drake and the time, Cavs score 3 points in final 3:34 of game.

About Coach Drake......he was dropping sideline dimes on K Love!

Who is Kevin Love?

BISMACK PADDY WACK BI-BI-YOMBO
THE TEAM FROM THE 6 AINT GOING HOME

MVP chants for Bismack Biyombo = greatest time to be living! (Jordan was right w/pick, just didn't know how to bring him along).

Sooo who you got in a street fight between Xavier McDaniel and Hulk Adams? Xavier was a bad-azz dude back in the day, even led the NCAA in scoring / rebounds one year, but was NEVER a 20/10 guy in the NBA and surprisingly was only an All-Star once.
