problem is they've bloated the interface and their video streaming is just crap. stutters like mad, blurry as fuck, works worse than before. check out the reviews in the app store. i just cancelled my subscription, which is for a full year. i could always get it later, either month to month or some other format. but right now it's out of the question to pay for something that's broken.

as for doing something with my life-- i do have a lot of work right now, so if i could do some work saturday mornings instead of spending 3-4h glued to the tv i guess there could be some benefit in "productivity" or whatever ha ha ha. same thing with mid-day cl games during the workweek (makes for very long lunch breaks)

but yeah super disappointing.

there are possible fixes, but the issue in the background is that my living situation is a bit up in the air at the moment. i mean, we have this place in the boonies, which we own outright and has tricky internet, but we might move elsewhere, with better connection, im not sure, and not sure when precisely. it's not really a housing issue but a work thing we might need to follow, actually.

things might definitely change in 3-4 months time, so it's best for us to make no commitments right now-- that might include a contract to upgrade my internet, or a satellite tv installation, or who knows what. don't wanna start them till i know where we're going... so best to make a clean break with football instead of pining--until im sure i can watch again. never been a piner. not sure that's a word?

im crazy, am i not? haaa haaa haa. fml.

Nah, that makes sense. You've got a load more important stuff to think about than a fox subscription. And 'dodgy' streaming is out of the question cos of your connection?

yeha. i could upgrade my connection and see if it works (new satellite) or get cable. but that's a lot of money and commitment that might go out the drain soon, and just for football. and it's not like i lack unfinished projects to keep me distracted-- maybe i should apply ass to chair and start writing a book i'd actually wanna read ha ha ha. or something...

I can see this being another season where relegation quickly becomes a real possibility. Hopefully Chicharito and Antonio will do enough to keep them safe but that's how it usually is: relying on one or two players to (hopefully) keep them from disaster. So, another season where mid table safety is the most I can hope for.

The owners want to sell so aren't interested in building long term. I like Bilic but I'm starting to wonder if he's the right man. But then I don't think any manager would thrive with our current owners. The players never really feel like a team. The new stadium's crap. Nothing ever feels stable at West Ham. Even when things seem to be going right (which is rare) you know they'll find a way to balls it up.

And so on.

h8kurdt 08.21.2017 06:32 AM

Don't worry I know that feeling well. For years it seemed like Everton were due to get relegated any season now. It's only recently that they've managed to push on a bit more.

It's gonna be interesting to see where you go from here. I'm the same with you in that I like Bilic, but can't see what he's trying to do. It doesn't help that he just looks depressed ALL the time.

Who you'd get in replacement I can't even begin to guess. Clearly it calls for a beautiful reunion with big Sam

One thing I've learnt about football is it's the hope that kills you in football.

demonrail666 08.21.2017 02:52 PM

Watching Man City v Everton. Half time, great game so far. I take it all back about the Rooney signing.

h8kurdt 08.24.2017 12:18 PM

Champions League group stages have been revealed

Group A: Benfica, Manchester United, Basel, CSKA Moscow

Group B: Bayern Munich, Paris St-Germain, Anderlecht, Celtic

Group C: Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, Roma, Qarabag

Group D: Juventus, Barcelona, Olympiakos, Sporting

Group E: Spartak Moscow, Sevilla, Liverpool, Maribor

Group F: Shakhtar Donetsk, Manchester City, Napoli, Feyenoord

Group G: Monaco, Porto, Besiktas, RB Leipzig

Group H: Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham, Apoel

Fucking hell. Spurs might as well write off ANOTHER champions league. As for Liverpool, talk about a good draw.

!@#$%! 08.24.2017 12:21 PM

holy fuck bayern psg is gonna be megawars

im gonna have to arrange to watch that at least

h8kurdt 08.24.2017 03:13 PM

great acquisition btw. the kid's a genius

demonrail666 08.25.2017 01:45 PM

Dortmund are looking at getting Draxler from PSG as a replacement, who have to sell to satisfy FFP after buying Neymar.

I'm guessing all this also puts an end to any Coutinho-to-Barca deal, and Liverpool's own interest in Draxler as a possible replacement.

What a merry-go-round, ah?

!@#$%! 08.25.2017 01:57 PM

ha ha haha.

draxler back in germany is good for the bundesliga i guess

(not sure what draxler might think of this)

demonrail666 08.26.2017 11:37 AM

I take no joy in saying it but I reckon that could be it now for Bilic.

h8kurdt 08.26.2017 05:08 PM

Totally. Who do you reckon will replace him?

Shame really cos he's a decent guy too. But nice only gets you so far

demonrail666 08.26.2017 07:08 PM

Rafa's been mentioned, who I'd take in a heartbeat, but he could surely do better than West Ham if he does decide to walk away from Newcastle.

Either way, this international break is probably the best time to make the change. With players like Hart, Cresswell, Antonio, Lanzini, Arnautovic and Hernandez already in place, there's enough quality for any new manager to come in and work with before looking to reinforce things in the January.window. I'm not pretending we're just a new manager away from CL qualification but, on paper at least, we should be about on par with a team like Southampton.

Four games left; the next two are:

h8kurdt 08.27.2017 12:10 PM

If Liverpool had a few decent defenders they'd be big contenders for the league this season. Easy.

If Everton actually had a decent striker they'd be contenders for scoring goals against decent opposition.

If Arsenal had some leaders and will in their team they wouldn't be getting fucked as hard as they did today.

If there wasn't a fucking international break so soon into the season I'd be happier.

He's a team that are so incredible at going forward that anyone team that doesn't sit back and defend against them will struggle. Adding Salah to players like Mane, Firmino and Coutinho is an impressive front line.

Then you've got the defence...Moreno and Lovren especially are the biggest downfalls for them. Moreno is god at going forward but by doing that leaves a massive gap for teams to exploit.

Klopp also seems to be incredibly blase about defending on set pieces. It's all well and good to be a big advocate for zonal marking as he is, but if the players aren't smartening up in defending that way then you're buggered. It's the EXACT same as what happened under Rogers. A threat going forward, a joke defending.

It can't be denied how incredible of a job he did at Dortmund, but surely now he must realise Liverpool's problems and be sorting them out? I've siad this before and I totally believe that you're only as strong as your weakest link.

!@#$%! 08.27.2017 01:37 PM

klopp did incredible at dortmund at first but then had a huge collapse where he was scraping the bottom for months. they eventually recovered to mid-table but that was his last season. you don't hear much about that side of things but i remember it well cuz im a negative bastard.

sure at the time bayern had taken off his best boys but he also brought in aubameyang, mkhitarian, and immobile who was italy's toap goalscorer at the time.

sure mkhitarian took a while to find his aim and immobile was as his name, but you can't blame bayern for klopp running out of ideas. he had too much squad to be fighting relegation.

as for defense, i think high pressing is where he began and ended then too, yeah.

demonrail666 08.27.2017 01:41 PM

H8kurdt^All true, but Arsenal are exactly the kind of team Klopp loves playing. It's those tricky lower teams, defending for a draw, that he has trouble with. The very fact he can't be arsed defending set pieces is heaven for managers like Pulis.

And that's why the won't win the league. Again. The way Man Utd and Chelsea have their defense set up is what Klopp should be aiming for. Ah well, can't say I'm too sad if they don't win the league. Again :D

!@#$%! 08.27.2017 01:48 PM

h8kurdt 08.30.2017 10:22 AM

Symbols, did you see much of RB Leipzig's striker Timo Werner last year? Any thoughts?

!@#$%! 08.30.2017 10:27 AM

yeah he was sensational, really quick and a great scorer, made it also to germany's national team.

i guess the obvious comparison would be leicester's jamie vardy?

except werner is YOUNG

h8kurdt 08.30.2017 11:18 AM

Welp. Well that means Everton DEFINITELY won't be getting him. Onto the next wishful thinking signing.

Honestly, I wish I just didn't care about football. Like, if my head was just about me doing climbing then great. But NOooo I had to get suckered into loving a team that have let me down more times than my Dad next to a bottle vodka.

h8kurdt 08.30.2017 11:45 AM

And as a West Ham fan I'm sure demo can relate

demonrail666 08.31.2017 05:45 AM

Disappointment is obviously ingrained at clubs like West Ham but that only makes those rare moments or periods of success all the sweeter. They're certainly never a boring club to support, even though the excitement is usually closer to fear than elation.

West Ham are like an embarrassing uncle. Drives you mad, lets you down, but ocassionally does something brilliant. Either way you could never abandon him.

h8kurdt 09.09.2017 07:32 AM

Just watching the Liverpool/Man City game now.

How can ANYONE say Mane's red isn't a red? I just don't get it. "Oh, he didn't mean it" So! It's still dangerous play. Mongs.

demonrail666 09.09.2017 10:46 AM

totally agree. it might have been ok years ago but every player and manager knows you can't do that now

!@#$%! 09.10.2017 08:15 AM

better stop moaning about it and find something else to do! ha ha ha

Funnily enough I'm gonna start watching more of that, along with the Serie a. I need to broaden my horizon's a bit more.

Tonight's game is Bolonga/Napoli.

Rumour has it that West Ham want Napoli's manager who have this team playing some great football. So hopefully there's some of that to help counteract the shit show that was Everton yesterday, and next week and so on.

h8kurdt 09.10.2017 09:38 AM

Slight aside, but demo are you watching the GGG/Canelo fight next weekend?

good for you! good teams + players there, and likely affordable, yeah?

i'm really curious about dortmund after count orlock.

also, i imagine following a team like juventus must be great! i don't know anything about napoli. my first word association is "maradona"

i hope you post regular updates!

To be fair, Spurs were pretty shit-hot yesterday. When Alli, Eriksen and Kane click like that it can just be a case of damage limitation. Early prediction for Eriksen winning the PFA

God yeah, can't wait. I'm a Canelo fanboy but I think GGG will edge it. They're both capable of a ko though.

Did you bother with McGregor/Mayweather?

Yeah, hadn't heard of him till the last couple of days. Apparently quite respected in the game. Personally I'd take him if he'll come. I don't see things turning around under Bilic so I'd like him to leave sooner, while he still has the general support of fans, rather than later, when it could descend into Bilic-Out campaigns, and he doesn't deserve that.

This Sarri guy looks legit.

Nope. Decided he'd better off at Everton :D

That they were. But Everton are wanting to break into the top 6 they can't roll over like they did yesterday. Especially defensively which was an absolute mess no matter how you look at it.

Quote:

I did and it went exactly as expected. McGregor came out of it rich and Mayweather came out of it even richer. At the end of it all it didn't matter and this time next year nobody will care, nor remember it much.

However, the GGG fight is gonna be a good one. I'll admit that's it's something I'd like to have seen a couple of years ago when you knew they were at peak levels, but it's still gonna be a good fight.

Predictions? It depends. If Golovkin can knock him out then (obviously) it's his. However, if Canelo can hold up and keep doing what he does so well trapping him into the ropes etc. then it's his. That's IF he makes it to the end.

Just annoyed it means another 4am wake up. No matter how much I try and do all nighters I can't do them. Especially if I've had a couple of drinks.
