Well there you go England CAN win something. They've won u-20's world cup beating Venezuela 1-0. Now for all the promise and hope of young English players to be decimated by the press, over-expectation and generally too much, too soon. Yey...

By the way, that 2006 World Cup was a revenge in itself for Italy, as it took place in Germany, a country which won the title... in Italy 1990.

The other finalist was VENEZUELA? Christ on a stick...

Romania vs Chile today: Chile 2-0 after barely 18 minutes. Romania scores on the 31st. Gary Medel sees the red card two minutes later. Second half: the locals flip the pancake and shit ends 3-2 in their favor. Can't this bloody South American team hold on to a lead?

h8kurdt 06.15.2017 01:07 PM

Everton sign goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. Fucking get in. Let's hope they make more great signings in the months to come.

demonrail666 06.15.2017 01:35 PM

That is a GREAT signing!

Confederations Cup update (as if you guys gave a crap :D): today Chile beat an incredibly petty (as in defensive as fuck) Cameroon 2-0. Right before halftime, Eduardo Vargas scored and everything was neat-o, but after the referee had an interminable chat via his headset with some undisclosed officers, the goal was annulled because it was determined the striker was offside. Talk about a millimetric electronic decision: apparently HALF OF VARGAS' SHOE was offside when the ball was passed to him by Arturo Vidal.

Chile didn't play the fútbol it's been known for since Marcelo Bielsa revolutionized the country's style, partly because, as I said, Cameroon parked the bus (aka the bat-tactic: 10 players hanging from the crossbar behind the keeper), but also due to a strange level of indecision by cats who can certainly perform much better. It sure as shit didn't help matters that La Roja didn't count with Alexis until the 58th minute (ankle injury); it was Mr. A.S. himself who centered it for King Arthur to head in the 1-0 eight minutes before injury time.

Vargas ended up having the craziest game: a little before the curtain was about to fall, he scored again, but the linesman, who clearly wasn't wholly familiar with this shit's rules, gave the ref the signal to annul the goal. Enter, again, the obscure agents monitoring the match remotely — this time they called it in favor of Vargas. Chile now leads group B, but it remains to be seen what Germany's going to "do" with Australia tomorrow.

!@#$%! 06.18.2017 06:54 PM

congrats and good for you. me im not even trying to look but thanks for the update anyway. the remote ref sounds like a good/interesting thing.

germany i think is sending the reserves, so if you've got a full team you can count on taking this trophy home-- unless the russians microwave you from afar, or put polonium in your food, or some devious shit like that.

Turns out the Germans won, but didn't exactly crush Australia:

I wouldn't mind being this Cup's official updater :), but I took a fall under the driving rain on Friday, today I saw the traumatogist and the verdict is the worst case scenario: my ankle is not sprained, not even "neatly" fractured in one place — it's almost SHATTERED. The doctor couldn't even fathom how I could walk (well, "half-walk") and not pass out from the pain during these three days. I'm in a cast now and in three weeks is surgery time, motherfuckers! Can't say I'm looking forward to that. So I'm gonna have to spend time resting at home like a dipshit. I think I'll still post stuff here, twice a week or so, if I can...

Well, there's also C-Ronaldo, who wants to win every single goddamn thing this season. Now, this Chilean team has turned Messi into a whining little bitch thrice, so why not doing the same with that other dildo, right?

Thanks, man! :) Actually, now I wish the surgery was TODAY; this week has been astronomically painful and I have at least two or three more in this motherfucking cast.

Back on topic: Chile couldn't beat Germany B and shit ended 1-1. In any case, it looks like both teams will move to the semifinals; on Sunday we'll see who wins the group:

On Group A, the DNC Intruders still have a chance, even though they couldn't deal with Portugal (1-0, guess who scored... FUCK am I sick of that tax-evading douche). Russia will have to dial the microwaves all the way to 11, though:

!@#$%! 06.23.2017 10:25 PM

i saw the last 10 minutes of the chile-germany plus the highlights

looks like chile had more/better chances, but germany was a bunch of kids so in my mind it's "their"victory because they should have been spanked by the grownups.

apparently loew is completely dissing the tournament by using it as a lab and rotating players no matter what.

Yeah, the Lone Star isn't playing at their true best. As I said before, I sense indecision (not imprecision — now that would scare me... although, come to think of it, which is worse?) from players who should know better. I hate to sound like the living-in-fútbol's-past moron who always think the presence of a "classic 10" would fix shit, but because of the way Chile is playing I do miss someone like Jorge Valdivia.

ha ha ha

when it comes to international fests, i'm always pro-sudaca

plus chile has their full squad while germany is testing the kids. would be a damn shame if jerry won.

i might actually watch

demonrail666 06.29.2017 06:04 PM

I've only been watching since the semis. Too soon after the Prem for me to give it that much attention. More absorbed in F1 at the moment.

demonrail666 07.02.2017 03:00 PM

Sanchez carries that team as much as he does at the Emirates.

lol come on, it's not that terrible, it was a fun game, chile could have scored many times and just fucked up but they weren't sucky.

having said that, i don't know how much arsenal is sucky. my guess is it's not. but come on, chile played well for most of the game-- the thing is if you watch the bundesliga you don't make fuckups like that in front of timo werner. also, yea, germany defended well.

but chile was not all alexis. it's a good team that needs a finisher. and adderall for the defenders.

h8kurdt 07.05.2017 01:45 PM

Rumours are going mental atm about a deal for Costa to go to Madrid. For, get this, 22 million. Basically it'd mean Costa sitting on his ass for 6 months when he can "officially" sign for Atletico

Sell him for 22 mill; buy Lukaku for £80 mill. Makes sense!

demonrail666 07.05.2017 01:59 PM

That's hilarious. After the crazy offer from China he must be kicking himself for not taking it.

demonrail666 07.06.2017 04:48 AM

Looks like Lukaku's going to MU. Slightly surprised at that.

Me too. God knows why he'd go to the team where the very same manager dissed him saying he wasn't good enough. All this does it make me want Utd to flounder even more. Kinda like a Liverpool Mk. 2.

It's gonna be interesting to see who Everton get as a replacement. I know the talk was Giroud but I don't see it.

demonrail666 07.07.2017 04:27 PM

Rooney now seems like a done deal. He's obviously just a sweetener in the Lukaku deal, so I don't think he's come in as out n out replacement. As part of the Lukaku deal, though, I'd have pushed like fuck for Martial instead of Rooney. Jose's not a fan. I know West Ham are interested but I'd be seriously surprised if we get him., while at the same time none of the mega clubs seem interested in him. An Everton move would've made real sense for both parties. He's had some problems at MU but I do really rate him, and he's obviously far more long-term than Rooney.

h8kurdt 07.08.2017 08:21 AM

See I've thought about this a fair bit and in SOME ways it makes sense.

So the big signing besides for Pickford has been Klassen. Klassen is gonna be the midfielder who makes the runs, sets players up etc and he seems to be really good. He adds the pace to games that Koeman wants.

Rooney will add another dimension to the game. He knows how to control games to what the game dictates. He's not the fastest player in the squad and Koeman knows that. He'll be on when the pace needs to be slowed down. Also, when he comes on opposite players are gonna be trying to shut him down. That's gonna pull players away from their positions meaning other players will be free to try and make the runs needed to score. And lord knows he's good at setting them up. He could actually be a crucial signing. He's the guy who's won everything there is to win in the Premier League. That experience will be massive. Especially given how young our squad is.

Plus, you know what Dutch players are like. He could either be really terrible or really good in the Premier League. And again Rooney will help with that.

It would have been great to get Martial. I do worry about where most of our goals are gonna come from next season and relying on Ramirez is a risky move. Especially considering him and Lukaku are two very different kinds of players.

demonrail666 07.09.2017 06:10 AM

I've always been a Rooney fan, even when he was struggling, and certainly don't think it's a bad signing, necessarily, just a surprising one, from Koeman's pov. I agree with the experience aspect, although I've never seen Rooney really demonstrate an ability to control a game's tempo. If anything, he usually relies fron another teammate (Carrick?) controlling the tempo so he doesn't just descend into his now trademark running around trying to do everything. The rumours that you're about to sign Siguurdson make far more sense to me.

West Ham seem determined to get Hernandez off Leverkusen. Apparently just a case of agreeing his wage demands. There's lots of holes in WH's squad but I would see Chicharito as a positive - although I've got a feeling that's gonna fall through too.

I was the same, but Koeman and Walsh know what they're doing and they know what they're buying. Talk is that Rooney has kicked up his training and his fitness levels. It was probably a caveat by Koeman.

If you play to Hernandez's strengths it'd be a real good signing.

h8kurdt 07.09.2017 12:51 PM

I was more confused by the media talking about it as though he's gonna be the replacement for Lukaku. If he's used right then he could be a real asset.

West Ham's deals are collapsing. I doubt we'll get Hernandez, with the owners apparently not happy at his wage demands. They put us in a new stadium and talk about ambition but won't accept that to get players that'll help achieve that they have to pay higher wages. They got the shiny new stadium on the cheap now they want to get a shiny new squad on the cheap.

demonrail666 07.19.2017 01:03 PM
