Fracturing your hand is a fluke injury, but this makes for 5 out of 5 postseasons as a Clipper that Chris Paul has been hurt at some point.

Leading Scorers without Chris Paul:

Blake Griffin 25.4 PPG
Jamal Crawford 23.9 PPG

In addition to Chris Paul and Blake Griffin injuries, JJ Redick said his left heel will be an issue for rest of playoffs.

Clippers' offense with CP3 off the floor 2nd worst in league only to the Sixers.

By the end of the first quarter, the game was OVER:

First Half recap:

Everyone on TNT said this is a 7-game series......

Kawhi on Westbrook......R.I.P. Russ, it was nice knowing you! (Russ secretly wishing Spurs would have started Parker on him).

At one point in the first half, OKC had outscored Kaqhi by 16

Spurs had 20 assists on their first 25 made baskets = T E A M

Why did OKC foul Spurs 3-point attempts FOUR times in the first half......how does that happen?

It was like OKC had never encountered the concept of cross-matching, and what it means for transition defense.

This marked the first time in the Gregg Popovich era that the Spurs led by 40 or more in a playoff game.

NO SPUR played 30 minutes......EVERY SPUR SCORED!

LaMarcus Aldridge, Danny Green and Kawhi Leonard combined for 81 points on 45 shooting possessions......good for 90% true shooting percentage.

We have a series!

Before getting the crap knocked out of him, Ginobili stepped on the sideline and should have been assessed a technical:

From the officials who called last nights Game 2 in San Antonio:

Pool Reporter Transcript from last nights game:

Truth is, this is the San Antonio Spurs and they are well on their way to forgetting this......anyone remember LeBron slide-tackling Steph last year?

LaMarcus Aldridge has shot 75% on 44 attempts this series, averaging 39.5 points through the first two games = I N C R E D I B L E!!!

In the 12 minutes Kawhi sat last night, the Spurs were outscored by 49 points per 100 possessions.

In the 24 minutes Roberson was on the floor, the Spurs scored 60.5 points per 100 possessions.

Diaw only played eight minutes.

Golden State's 17-point comeback is its largest in the playoffs since overcoming a 20-point deficit on 4/23/15 at NOP (Game 3, First Round).

Warriors did not hold the lead in the game til 4:56 left in 4thQ. Only lead change of game. Outscored Portland 34-12 in 4thQ to win by 11.

ONLY scored 4 points in final 2:14 of game = 34-12 fourth quarter:

Warriors 22-point 4th quarter advantage (34-12) is biggest in any playoff quarter since May 10, 1987 (41-19 4th)--Sleepy Floyd had 29 points

Warriors held the Blazers to 12 4th-quarter points, tying a franchise playoff-record for fewest 4th quarter points allowed (Shot Clock Era)

D. Lillard 0-for-3 in the 4thQ for ZERO POINTS!

Damian Lillard in the clutch last two years
14-15 32.5 FG% and 19.6% from 3
15-16 38.9 FG% and 34% from 3

The "ill-advised" shots Portland takes are the shots they have to take and make to have a chance against Golden State.

Warriors have blocked eight shots in back-to-back playoff games for the first time since a two-game stretch in 1991.

With Draymond Green as primary defender, the Blazers had more turnovers (5) than made FG (4)......just 3 of 20 attempts have been open looks.

Draymond Green's 4th quarter was very Magic like on offense, but better on defense......

Dray gotta be the best post game interview in the league

GSW is now +13.8 per 48 minutes with Draymond on and Steph off (567 total minutes).

Steph Curry hurt late in 1stH of GSW's 1st playoff Game against Houston. Steph has been out since 1stH of Game 4 vs Houston......Golden State has outscored Houston/Portland by 83 pts in 3 1/2 games since = WOW

The Cavs made more 3s last night in one game (25) than they did in the entire 2007 Finals (22).

In 1982, the Lakers won the title and made 15 3-pointers all year......regular / post season combined! The Cavs made 18 in the first half last night.

What History looks like from behind the arc:

With his 13th point last night, LeBron James passed Tim Duncan on the NBA all-time postseason scoring list.

*possible for this to flip-flop from game-to-game
**LeBron plays in the East

The East SUCKS!

Maybe not as much as in previous seasons (like the entire time LeBron was a Heat), but the East SUCKS!!

This is why it as been so easy for LeBron to reach the finals so many years in a row, giving him more opportunities to score points in the playoffs. Before all the dust settles on his carrier, LeBron will probably end up playing in more than double the amount Championships and he ever wins......unless he takes his talents to the West (LA).

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 05.05.2016 05:13 PM

Bytor the east doesn't suck.

Has an aggregate win record that is better than west.
Has a better record against west teams than west haveagainst East teams.
Lower seeds these playoffs have better records and more competitive series than west.
Even in Lebron Heat era East consistently had better defensive stats than west.

Also the myth that lebron would suck in west is literally hilarious. I mean, if Lebron was in West he would obviously be on the better teams and so would dominate the West no different than he has dominated the East, AND if the East did suck then obviously a Lebron West team would crush it.

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 05.05.2016 05:17 PM

And i like how you trying to use your myths to knock LeBron career records and accomplishments. Just tip your cap and move on. No matter how you slice the cake Lebron is an all time great in a every category. And unlike cupcake curry, all the NBA vets, HOFers, and legends have always acknowledged Lebron.

Who said anything about LeBron sucking in the West?

I said it would be much more difficult to reach the NBA Finals in so many consecutive seasons (as LeBron has in the East) because the West is much more competitive.

NBA Championships Dating Back To 2000

West = 11
East = 5

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 05.05.2016 05:46 PM

Championships don't determine which was the better conference, simply where the individually best team was. Head to head win records, aggregate win records, and team stats determine that.

Also again the "Lebron wouldn't make the Finals in West" logic is nonsensical. If Lebron was in West his team would be default be one of better teams, and so would be just fine.

I never said LeBron wouldn't make the Finals.

LeBron has played in FIVE straight Finals. I'm saying the reason for this is because it's not that difficult in the East. Saying LeBron would't play in FIVE straight Finals as a member of a West squad is simply because Kobe nor Tim has ever done that.

If LeBron was a member of the Suns or Nuggets, then YES, I'm sure they may have reached the Finals a time or two......just not FIVE season in a row!

Please Remember......my original comment was about LeBron passing Tim in playoff points. Playing in FIVE straight Finals = more opportunities at playoff points. LeBron hasn't ever had to face the likes of Tim, Kobe or Dirk over in the East = much easier path to the Finals thus my reasoning for an asterisk.

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 05.05.2016 07:51 PM

Why in the world would Lebron play for denver or Phoenix? You know damn well he would be on clippers/thunder/spurs/warriors. And how do you know that if Lebron was in West that he wouldn't have made it harder for Kobe or Duncan rather than the other way around? After all head to head Lebron has won against two of bestselling teams in West and has competed against them all. Keep

Because this is basically what the Cavalier franchise is without LeBron (his first years in the league / did they even make the playoffs while he was a Heat?). If LeBron were a Spur, San Antonio would have won 10+ Championships!

Exactly my point. He only went to cavs cuz it was hometown

Bytor Peltor 05.07.2016 07:45 AM

Spent 12 hours yesterday driving around delivering Mother's Day flowers. I listened to lots of Sports Talk Radio and Charles Oakley was the one running his mouth yesterday about everything from Charles Barkley "he never ran his mouth on the court, he talked in the papers" to how pathetic the East is......"give me five or six dudes from the D-league and we can contend NOW."

OKC's offense COMPLETELY died when POP moved Kawhi on KD and left Westbrook trying to do everything......speaking of, Westbrook could be such a complete player, but he is so quick to resort to his juvenile ways of banging his chest and drawing attention to himself. Westbrooks inability to play and act mature is going to be a BIG factor in KD leaving town!

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 05.07.2016 03:42 PM

Did Oakley pay attention to the west this year? There was a lot of garbage there too. East has been steadily improving every year, basically all the "Leastern Conference" comments are outdated.

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 05.07.2016 03:48 PM

Westbrook is phenomenal and he is increasingly learning to use his team as evidenced by his huge increase in assists. But in crunch time he tries to do too much on his own. Actually VP3 does same exact shit. Ball moving Russ for 3 and half quarters makes Thunder a historically prolific offensive attack. They score at an insane rate. Same with Clippers. However in crunch time both Westbrook and CP3 turn into wanna be JordKobe and the team doesn't know what to do. Lebron learned this lesson and win or lose he tries to involve more of his team in crunch time. Critics try to argue its cuz he afraid. Nonsense. Lebron just paid attention to how scoring 50 points in big games can still lose. Got to move the ball. Got to trust your team. Of course Lebron still leads NBA in crunch time points

Bytor Peltor 05.09.2016 08:22 AM

Going back to the Trailblazers vs. Dubs Saturday night:

Damian Lillard: 4th player with THREE 40-point games vs Warriors in a season in last 50 years (inc. playoffs)......the others: LeBron, Kareem & and the logo aka Jerry West!

Damian Lillard vs. GSW at home this season:

- 40/10
- 51/7
- 40/10

Lillard becomes the 7th Blazer with 40+ in the playoffs: LaMarcus Aldridge x2, Clyde Drexler, Terry Porter, Brandon Roy, Mychal Thompson.

Speking Of LaMarcus Aldridge
The Blazers have now gone as far into the playoffs (5 wins) in their first season without LaMarcus Aldridge as they ever did with him.

Blazers move to 80-37 at home all-time in the playoffs, 25-4 in the second round.

It was the 1st time in postseason history that two players have made EIGHT 3-pointers in the same game (Damian Lillard & Draymond Green)
Damian Lillard has broken the team record for 3-pointers in a playoff game with EIGHT
Draymond Green's 37 points, was the most he had scored in any game in his career (regular-season or postseason).

Curry waiting to pull a Jon Snow:

Coach Of The Year: "We did not get beat because of any calls. We got beat because they outplayed us!"

Portland is the first team to beat GSW twice this year.

Bytor Peltor 05.09.2016 08:37 AM

Kevin Durant's 41-point performance saved Game 4 for OKC......only had 12 at halftime while being guarded by the Defensive Player of the Year!

Kevin Durant outscored The Spurs in the 4thQ

Another way to sum up the game......Spurs had 12 assists. Russell Westbrook had 15. The Spurs had 16 points in the fourth quarter. Kevin Durant had 17.

Pop on Durant: "You gotta give him credit, he was great. He was great. I don't know how else to say it. He was fantastic."

Spurs were outscored 34-16 in final quarter

HUGE caveat that Danny guards KD a lot, plus switches, etc.
With Kawhi on floor, regular season, KD shot 39.5%......THIS series: 54.5%

I listened to Spurs post-game radio and the consistent theme out of the Spurs’ comments was that OKC was more physical.

Spurs point differential in the playoffs: +32, +26, +9, +21, +32, -1, +4, -14.

Tim Duncan 0-for-0, 0 points, 3 rebounds in 12 minutes.

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 05.09.2016 09:45 AM

I see Spurs realized they're not playing Memphis anymore ;)

When KD and Russ are hot they are Spurs kryptonite! Indeed a one-two punch has always been Spurs Achilles heel. If OKC can keep their head together they can pull off an epic upset AND expose San Antonio inflated win record.
