Whoa...hoa..hoa !!

Coolness mon....I live not too far from Denver and that's where I go to !! When I saw Sonic Youth there in June, Twist and Shout was just about 4 miles away from the Gothic Theatre !!!

Hey gmku, if you feel like coming up back behind the mountains let me know....we could hook up !! Seriously, it's beautiful back out here !

One of the best record/cd stores I've been too, especially recently....

Oh btw.....my most recent purchase was Experimental Jet Set, Trash and No Star. I don't understand the dissing of this album, I think it's fantastic. Now I have everything from Evol to Rather Ripped 'cept NYG&F. I find it amazing how much of SY's output is disliked by members here....like when one asks...'Which album of the 00's do you like best?', and folks say NONE ! Like all they like is the earliest, most dissonant, unstructed material they do. And I DO see alot of negativity for many albums of SY's here. Sad.

Hey, yeah, thought about letting you know, but we have a full agenda, between visiting ma and my daughter and her beau. Daughter lives up in Breckenridge, actually. Spent most of the weekend up there. It's beautiful, and the people are a lot friendlier than in Denver. I think it's because everybody in Breck is there only because they want to be--either on vacation or locals who love living there. It's great country. I understand why my daughter likes it there so much.

Yeah, Twist & Shout... Wow. It's even better than the last time I visited four years ago. Seems they have more vinyl than ever. Truly a vinyl junkie's dream.... That PiL Metal Box is beautiful. I advise everyone, cost be damned, you should pick this up--it's the cleverest packaging in the history of rock n roll.

Pookie 10.07.2006 10:54 AM

Great for dancing.

Пятхъдесят Шест 10.07.2006 10:55 AM

See that in the corner Pookie, it even has ACE on the cover.

Pookie 10.07.2006 10:58 AM

Apologies in advance to whoever gets my next mix tape, but there'll be a Dave "Baby" Cortez track on it.

Actually, no apology necessary, unless you're allergic to dancing, baby.

Пятхъдесят Шест 10.07.2006 10:59 AM

All of my tapes have included a 'dance' track. Its needed.

Pookie 10.07.2006 11:04 AM

I only dance in the privacy of my own home, mind.

Пятхъдесят Шест 10.07.2006 11:06 AM

I wish I could prevent myself from dancing in public.

But when you're drinking, and a song comes on that begs for you to get up, and move. I look like an ass. It happened again last night. I blame Prince.

Pookie 10.07.2006 11:08 AM

If I ever went to places that played GOOD R&B, then I might be lured to the dancefloor.

Пятхъдесят Шест 10.07.2006 11:11 AM

This is exactly what happened last night.

k-krack 10.07.2006 11:13 AM

I only dance at weddings... I feel like an ass though.

touch me i'm sick 10.07.2006 11:15 AM

you didn't dance at our wedding...:(

k-krack 10.07.2006 11:16 AM

That's because it was a shotgun wedding, my darling. (not a real one, but a sexy one.) Plus, there was hardly any time for dancing, with all the lovin' going on.

touch me i'm sick 10.07.2006 11:17 AM

too true.

Nothing like that where I live I'm afraid.

More like this:

Пятхъдесят Шест 10.07.2006 11:23 AM

Yet, I wish I was there. That looks like a fun place, with a great name to boot.

Ideal place to watch football??

Pookie 10.07.2006 11:24 AM

It's not called that anymore, it's now McCarthy's Bar and it's dull as the town it's in.

Пятхъдесят Шест 10.07.2006 11:25 AM

Still, good place to watch a football game, yes?

Pookie 10.07.2006 11:27 AM

1) No it isn't
2) I don't like football

They don't even have a pool table or dartboard.

Pookie 10.07.2006 11:28 AM

The only reason we used to go in there was because a friend of mine liked flirting with the barmaid. She couldn't be rude to him or run away.

Пятхъдесят Шест 10.07.2006 11:31 AM

OH. Well.

At least the barmaid was hot then?

king_buzzo 10.07.2006 11:49 AM

nirvana bleach
sex pistols nevermind the bollocks
iggy pop- anthology

i got them for 25$

WHOREOHSCOPE 10.07.2006 09:59 PM

and

(Both original vinyls.)

Got em... like 40 minutes ago at a local used book store(HALF PRICE BOOKS)--- didn't expect to find these but my girlfriend spotted them when we were looking through used pop/rock vinyls- each was... 3.98. Dreamtime is pretty rare to find isn't it? It's not even in print and only on vinyl... so finding it in this place which for the most part only carries popular used stuff (some good , some bad) was pretty cool.
