I have that video! It's goddamn amazing. My first favorite was Death Valley 69. Like a ton of bricks. |
Eric's trip here too! I once taped a video registration from a festival in Rotterdam (ein abend in Wien...) and this song was on it. Lee his hair was waving because of a (wind)fan in front of him. The energy of this performance was amazing. Funny thing is that i borrowed the LP (Daydream nation) about a year earlier from my library and didn't like it at all!

Teenage Riot made me go "Cool, they're doing something new with this sound!" and Silver Rocket just made me say "...what the fuck IS THIS..." So Silver Rocket is my favourite first SY song.
|
Mine was My Friend Goo, kind of weird, because now that's like one of my least favourites by them. The bass line still rocks though

Teenage Riot. It was the first SY song I ever heard. the second steve shelley's snares started a'clickin I knew immediately that my life was about to change
|
After hearing some random tracks and most of their singles, my early favorite was The Diamond Sea (Still one of my faves from them, outside of the pointless feedback at the end). Then I went through a Green Light phase, and after going on a SY album rampage my favorite became Becuz.
Now it's a toss up. When I first got their EP I loved the heck out of every song and listened to it once a day for like two months. My twin brother was also obsessed with it. ~Jeremy~ |
Candle.
The chord progression after the intro somehow making sense in its own way, the lucid verse/chorus, and then suddenly BUM BUM orgasmic skronk and then back to the dream chords. There were other song on DN that I sort of liked but Candle was the first to blow my mind. Even to today, the skronk breakdown gets me. |
