Yeah, looking forward to Boban. I never thought Weird Al would ever play at ATP.

batreleaser 06.03.2010 12:18 PM

Fuck I can't imagine how amazing seeing Neurosis play right after Bardo Pond. Seriously, Neurosis is one of the best live bands I've ever seen.

After seeing Andrew W.K. at the ATP line-up last year I'm not that easily surprised anymore... but yes, Weird Al is a bit of an odd pick. Isn't he Canadian like GYBE? Or maybe I'm thinking of that other wacko who's definitely Canadian, Nerdwuar(?).

Also, to whichever member of GYBE who keeps adding stuff like Marissa Nadler, Josephine Foster and Scout Niblett: Stop it already!

_slavo_ 06.03.2010 12:55 PM

Boban Markovic is a proper headfuck live.

stu666 06.03.2010 05:05 PM

tickets ordered, i'm definitely going now! :)

This is very true. Something about those horns melt reality.

atsonicpark 06.04.2010 05:57 AM

Weird Al will be the best set there!

stu666 06.04.2010 11:20 AM

his first gig in europe!

Ghostchase 06.04.2010 04:55 PM

"Weird Al" Yankovic is from California. Interesting pick, but the mans got some great musical skill. And its Nardwuar!

Mike Watt, Tim Hecker, and The Ex would be on my to see list. One these days I'm gonna make the trip across the sea and make it to Minehead. WHOA. I just noticed WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM on the bill. Nice selection!

Keeping It Simple 06.05.2010 05:25 AM

I see the clique of pitchforkers are having apoplectic fits over it. The rest of humanity don't give a shit.

stu666 06.05.2010 05:29 AM

whatever

what british music would you like to see there?

This Is Not Here 06.07.2010 03:07 PM

Personal preferences aside, anything that acknowledges this festival is in fact held in Minehead, not New York.

Ghostchase 06.07.2010 10:34 PM

If you want British, go to Bowlie 2. I guess GS!YB decided to change it up a bit and show the ATP fans some new music.

i don't see why it matters as long as it is good. the Bel & Seb weekend will probably be more british though if that's what you like.

A Thousand Threads 06.09.2010 08:37 AM

I'll lose my atp-virginity this year.

Basically Dead C and Bardo Pond were enough for me to buy the ticket.
Rangda should be great.
Emeralds could be good, but I haven't really heard enough to have high expectations.
I've seen Boban i marko markovic orkestar about two years ago. Unfortunately, I can't remember anything.
The Ex are always fun to see.
Francisco Lopez is an interesting choice for this kind of festival.

GY!BE, Neurosis, WITR, Deerhoof I don't really care for.

A Bardo Pond side project (Moon Phantoms, Alasehir.... ) would be the most fantastic thing, but probably won't happen.

Semperet 06.23.2010 03:56 AM

Godspeed date for Dublin is December 10th in the Tripod. Tickets from tomorrow.

PAULYBEE2656 06.23.2010 12:01 PM

yes and yes again lar! im there with a freshly grown beard to aleviate skin rash from excessive stroking during their set.......

Semperet 06.24.2010 04:39 AM

All ticketed up. Twenty-five fifty of your Earth Euros. I'm already getting anti-establishment and all angry and shit in anticipation.

PAULYBEE2656 06.24.2010 06:40 AM

25.50. thats not very punk rock of them or umack now is it? next thing they will be on ticketmaster!!!! sellouts...cheap corporate whores!

time to get that political slogan hand stitched onto the teeshirt!

Semperet 06.25.2010 03:28 AM

I've etched it into my acne-scarred pale emo skin. Above the teeshirt line, though, as I'd lose my job in Waterstone's if they saw any of it.

Toilet & Bowels 06.25.2010 05:19 AM

atp isn't really that angsty, it's more just like loads of drunk people scurrying around for three days.

stu666 07.06.2010 09:27 AM

...and this news accompanies me booking my chalet. I couldn't possibly be more pleased. I mean Keiji fucking Haino?! Literally one of my favourite musicians ever! Charlemagne, Borbetomagus and Flower/Corsano are also both super damn amazing. Seriously, with this, Godspeed, Bardo Pond, Dead C, a hell of a lot of other awesomeness, this is genuinely of the most uniformly mindblowing lineups of total noise/post rock and assorted weirdness that I've seen. Too sexy.

Mahjongg are amazing live. I'm not too into Deerhoof anymore but they have one of the best drummers ever.

Daniel Menche, Barbetomagus, Charlemagne Palestine (!), Haino, Neurosis, Dead C, Rangda, The Ex, Dead C, and fucking Weird Al! And some other people! Great!

jon boy 07.06.2010 06:47 PM

its a pretty amazing line up, certainly no couch rock. would love to go.

stu666 07.15.2010 11:10 AM

Berg Sans Nipple and Sick Llama confirmed.

mrb 07.15.2010 03:29 PM

suprised about neurosis but there

blunderbuss 07.16.2010 12:47 AM

I'd love to go, but don't know if I can spare the time off from work.
