it's very good, g/death. and the music's pretty intense as well.
Yes, very good. Bravo!
Thanks guys, much appreciated. The track itself came out very black metal-ish, for some reason. The rest of the music I have been working on has a Gothic feel to it, somehow, but it's either much noisier or much quieter.
What do you use to record?
I record everything with Sound Forge. The mic I stick to the amplifier, and add vocal tracks after. If I am playing a synth I connect it straight into the socket at the back of my hard drive. It depends how abstract the music I am working on is, in which case I make my own samples, loops etc. I have been working out how I'd play in a live setting, 'cause eventually I want to start doing just that, and it will be a learning ground all its own.
Ah. That's how I do it, just stick the mic to the amplifier. I use Adobe Audition though, never used Sound Forge.
unlistenable guff.
Last time I played something to my sister she asked me not to give up the day job. A sisterly way to remind you that your music is shit.
Definately different will require more than one listen, interesting music. Cracked up when I saw the picture of swa(y).

And another one |
I'd fucking marry it.

Also, my band had the honor of collaborating with YotL on a track called "Dead Lips the News" which is available on our My Space:
http://www.myspace.com/deadairfresheners a single, perhaps cassingle, release is in the works with lyrics printed out. |
The honour was mine. You guys did an excellent job.
The Slow Face vid is quite nice, actually.
Webcams/photo cameras can work wonders in the right hands. As for a vid, I might just take you up on that sometime. Very busy right now. |
Thanks again. The video I made for Slow Face is the one I like the most, but far from what I consider any good. The pixelasation between the frames gives me a headache, for instance. Will send you the whole lot of tracks, and see what you can do, time permitting.
the cassingle of Dead Air Fresheners/Year of the Lips collaboration is done. just have to run the damn things off.
meanwhile you can hear the A-side "Cold Hands/Cold Heart" and the B-side "Dead Lips the News" courtesy of Misters Rupert & Tom: http://www.myspace.com/deadairfresheners |
Thanks Jim. I would up them on my myspace but it won't let me. Email on your way in a bit.

its a bit, well ok but nothing to write home about.
Oh you!
A new track. It's a recorded home live improvisation that was 1 hour long and I've edited to a more reasonable 20 minutes. I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks Gabe, giving it a d/l right now.
Cheers Adamus.
Thanks babes!
Good work. A lot of bases touched here. Particularly like that it sounds krautrocky without sounding like Faust. Is the whole thing worth listening to?
Cheers. I haven't listened back to the whole thing since I've done the editing. I'd say no right now because it still needs work. Those 20 minutes are pretty much the essence of it, though. It's also difficult for me to tell because I don't mind something repetitive going on forever, but I understand that's not everyone's cup of tea.

It's all about the frequencies. |

I tend to think that once you've committed to listening to something for more than, say, 15 minutes, you may as well listen for 30 or more. We used to have the problem of having very little south of 45 minutes - most of which remains pretty good. I should probably get around to mastering that lot... Hmm... |

Watch out Gaga. |
Cheers babe. That one's on a demo I'm sending out next month to labels, blogs, radio shows etc. I'm sitting on a pile of blank tapes. I found a place that sells them super cheap.
Yay, love the last couple tracks, great great sounds.
Semi OT, does that place sell also coloured tapes? (as in: blue cassettes, by any chance?) |
Thanks.
I don't think so. I can always ask. |
For the 3, maybe 4 people who care, YotL has a release coming up on this label: http://teflonbeastrecords.blogspot.co.uk/
It should be out around September. Pleased to find out that Defibrillators are doing something with Jeff and co. too. |
I was playing this several times in a row, this morning.
