I mean that they'll probably have news about a new project later in the year. I'm not going to rush them. They make real music and need real time.

Green Magnesium 02.16.2009 03:05 AM

I suppose you're right. I just get so impatient with them for some reason. More-so than any other artist I can think of.

WHOREOHSCOPE 02.16.2009 03:08 AM

Well what by them should I start with, literally?

That's what I meant.

EvdWee 02.16.2009 03:25 AM

misery is my favorite.

Sonic Youth 37 02.16.2009 12:22 PM

Start with Misery or Lemons, then work chronological from self-titled to 23.

That's a great way to start off the listening....

anywho...Chi É E Non É off of Mélodie Citronique is amazing.....I"m really hooked right now to that song.

Sonic Youth 37 04.13.2009 01:48 AM

I'm of the mindset that this band can do no wrong. Even SY has missteps, but all of BRH's output is good-great.

neptuneg 04.13.2009 05:28 PM

They're working on a new album now

Derek 04.13.2009 05:34 PM

I like all of Blonde Redhead's albums but Misery is a Butterfly is the only one that I REALLY like.

Not enough love for Fake Can Be As Just As Good.

Blonde Redhead - Capitol Theater, Olympia, WA October 17, 1998 by jackd49

nicfit 12.06.2009 10:07 AM

aaaargh!
Lovely!
Ha ha, I think that's the less sy sounding period ever, so much minimal stuff on "inexpressible"...
Could you pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease up it somewhere (sandspace?) if you grab it from dime? :D pretty pleeease? a link here or in the bootleg thread would make me happy :).

loubarret 12.06.2009 11:17 AM

Melody of Certain Damaged Lemons and fake I guess.

Can't choice...

WOW, thanks a lot in advance, that was fast :).
It's a bit frustrating having a dime account and a weird isp with problems seeding, I'd ruin my ratio in a week... :(.

Toxa 12.06.2009 08:35 PM

s/t is ok, others are not.

knox 12.06.2009 08:36 PM

i like them all but i think:
In an Expression of the Inexpressible
is the best

EVOLghost 12.06.2009 08:41 PM

La Mia Vita Violenta

Jeremy 12.06.2009 10:08 PM

Their first two LPs are my favorites easily, though there's still some of their stuff I need to listen to (Mostly their later stuff and Fake Can Be Just As Good). I'll probably pull La Mia Vita Violenta out later.

I still like "Fake..." more, but that is indeed amazing...the production, mood, stripped out instrumental bits, THE DRUMS...incredible stuff.

Over time my faves has changed, but top 3. La Vita, Expression, and Misery.

Jeremy 12.01.2011 02:22 PM

Mine goes Fake Can Be Just As Good, Expression, and 23 probably. Misery sometimes fights 23 for position.

Swing Pool

E. Noisefield 01.27.2012 03:08 AM

I don't know... probably Lemons.

And Penny Sparkle has never really grown on me. I'm tempted to say it sucks, even though that would be disrespecting one of the first bands that got me out of the radio rock of the early '90s.

I hold out hope that it's a grower.

A slow grower.

EVOLghost 01.27.2012 11:26 AM

Nah...Penny Sparkle is ok. They got some really lames songs on there (Will ther be stars), but then they got masterpieces like Oslo.....so...it's an ok album imo. I like 23 much better....but, In an Expression, la vita, and Misery are the 3 best things to ever happen to me.....next to Sonic Youth...

EVOLghost 12.05.2012 08:41 PM

Blonde Redhead did a ST for The Dungeon Masters film. (Yes, a documentary film on Dungeons and Dragons)

ANyone listen to it? I'm trying to scrounge up the little cash I have to grab a copy.
