fags are all clean and tidy. indie kids dress like asexual geeks from the olden days.

I dunno. I get called an 'indie' kid all the time. I don't dress like a geek. I'm neat, tidy, and stuff. I live in a hick town though. I don't know anything.

you'll be amazed when you finally make it to the big city

k-krack 05.28.2006 07:54 PM

I don't think i would say shes really.. hip-hop style... some of the music sort of has that sound to it and all.. but she just sing-talks slowly... I wouldnn't call it hip-hop or anything..anyways, theres tons of more deserving i suppose?

Original Wrapper by Lou Reed was performed on an SNL rerun last night...it's the episode hosted by Sam Kinison...it's a weak effort, but man, that guitar outro is vintage Lou-noise.

Hey, I saw that SNL too. Did you hear the crowd booing him at the very end? I was wondering why the hell they were doing that. I love the velvet underground so I was wanting to catch his performance, even though it was like '86 or something. Do you have an idea of why they booed him? Oh ya, sorry for being off topic...

kingcoffee 05.29.2006 03:47 PM

Nowhere on the list. Sh'es not hip hop.

Gainsbarre 05.29.2006 08:34 PM

How old are you people? jeezus...

I didn't catch the boos, although I did tape it & haven't re-watched yet. I have several vhs tapes worth of music performances from tv shows (like many people do)

I loved that guitar part he played at the end. it reminded me of some the stuff thurston does noe in some of his side-projects.

What does it matter how old the poeple on this board are? That seems like a weird question to ask.

she appreciated hip hop when it was still an urban movement free from musicbiz , that's sure

alyasa 05.30.2006 07:06 AM

This one has gone to heaven...

that's some real bullshit, marley.

O.K., so I was wrong in saying she was in the top 20, but c'mon, none of you can sit there w/ a straight face & tell me that Kim hasn't written her fare share of hip-hop beats.

I'll say this again, listen to "Ineffable Me" real closely, & sooner or later you'll notice the rythym in there. I guess I'm the only one who sees it, me being a drummer & all.

John Violence 05.30.2006 04:09 PM

Well since you are a drummer and all then I guess I am incapable of hearing any kind of bass lines or these "beats" you speak of that Kim always writes.

marleypumpkin 05.30.2006 07:14 PM

Well she doesn't always write those beats.
Listen to the re-mix of "Making The Nature Scene", & bow-down to the queen of hip-hop.

(haha, just kidding)
