i call polvo noise rock, not noise. and therefore my kimono is a noise rock pop song in my ears.

But not all their songs are noise rock. They may be easy to define as such overall (or some people call them "math rock" even) but I'd say certain songs definitely don't fit that description.

What would you define Sonic Youth as?

sonic to me has always been noise rock. they craft rock songs with noise from the guitars and great drumming with the bass holding it all together
however, that is so vague as to be meaningless, considering the output and how varied it is from bad moon rising to daydream nation to rather ripped.

I don't know what I'd call sonic youth.. they've done so many different things!.. I guess "noise rock" works, though they obviously don't sound anything like a lot of other noise rock bands.
