haha thanks. two peas in a pod.
ps.. i mostly learned how to play "how's the world gonna take you now" by ikara colt on guitar recently. there's an excellent website with tabs for like every song out there. |
that may be
www.ikaracolt.tk Arent i great at turning threads around to discussing Ikara Colt? If they were still around they could pay me a wage, 3 beans an hour perhaps. |
yeah, that website's fucking amazing.
i love ikara colt! i think me and you are the only ones on here who do.. |
Go and beat each other off then. This ain't a thread about you pair gettin' married. Be done with it.
|
Even if it were a thread about us being fags, it'd be better than listening to Poison the Well.
|
I don't mind you, but I agree with what Porkmarrass said in one of the threads, you perhaps try too hard.
Anyway, I'm gonna buy some Boredoms and some Melt Banana when I get some cash. |
If not trying at all is "trying too hard", you really got me.
|
Ergh, I'm not trying to get you.
|
Oh, you mean download?
It took me awhile to come to that conlcusion. |
True. Although there's something about downloading that doesn't appeal to me. I don't know.
Plus I found a store that's selling vinyl of both bands for like $20. |
Yeah, I could imagine drugs taking a toll on your funds, not to mention other assets.
I found Melt Bananas Bambi's Dilemma, and Teen Shiny (?) both on LP for under $20. Can't find any Boredoms though. Shame. |

i'll research bus rates and time to the border and will try to make it to the san diego show...hope it's not much because i'm going to no fun (still keeping my fingers crossed) and that's expensive as it is. what does "in the round" me? |
In the round means they perform with the audience all round them. For the others the audience just watches from the front.
When I saw them it was in the round, and it was fantastic, but that was a small crowd (ticket numbers were deliberately limited to about 400) in a small venue, so it meant that the audience was really up close and personal with the band - even the people at the back only had about four rows of people between them and the (18-inch high) stage. Those three in the round venues look pretty big and horrible - Terminal 5 in NY takes 4,000 punters - with a bigger crowd I could imagine it being annoying, as the rest of the crowd would just block the view of those behind them. |
then san diego is my aim.

you bet

Awesome, I'll probably be there unless something insane happens.
|
im missing the boston date by three fucking nights! i was checking my spring break sceudle and nearly cried when i saw that ill be back in AZ by the time they get to my ol' neck of the woods.
can u say DRAG!?!?!? |
A gig in the round? Marvellous. Its about time bands exploited silly theatre. I once did a short play where the audience sat in a cross and the protagonist sat in the centre and shouted his insane thoughts. That person was of course, me.

i've missed them by three or two days TWICE already. |
I'm seeing them twice:
Sunday, March 30th New York Terminal 5 (In The Round) Wednesday, Apr 02, 2008 Starlight Ballroom, 460 N 9th Street, Philadelphia, PA With no openers announced yet, my hope is that Lightning Bolt's spring tour is concurrent with theirs again. Acid Mothers Temple will be around that time too, which would be an amazing match up as well. |
word.

i just saw yamatsuka eye last night and man!!!! i love the guy even more.
he played as aeo with another fellow but he was alone onstage with just two sound/light spheres he has used on bore shows and it was amazing, filling sonically everything, stunning in its attack and, by the middle of it, breathlessly beautiful. when he finished, he went offstage for like 5 minutes while the whole crowd was cheering for him non-stop and dude came onstage again and played a brief and noisier piece. everytime he opened his mouth to make sounds i instinctively screamed along with him (i was right in the front row exactly where he was standing). what an amazing personality and charismatic! he was so spot on and amazing, and he didn't even climb on anything, or backflipped or did handstands or anything. it was still electrifying. a friend of mine was crying because of how beautiful the performance was to her. |

fuck you jerks for not caring!

I hope they play over here, and one that isn't 18+.
