i remember buying this one. listening to sister ray for the first time was amazing.

I've finally found 'Expert Knob Twiddlers' by Mike and Rich for sale today.

Mike is Mike Paradinas (Mu-ziq) Rich is Richard D. James (Aphex Twin). Together they're awesome. On some tracks they build on old rock-n-roll samples, constructing a big layered groove. I have a theory: Mike controls the right speaker/channel, Richard controls the left, they work together on some parts. This album is amazing, you can clearly hear the two artists' minds fusing together. And its all pretty fun and lighthearted!

I read a pitchfork review and thought i'd hate them cause they said "wont win any prizes for originality" but i disagree totally, long dark bluesy rock with tape manipulation/synth type stuff as well.

Grebes to Terns
Doves to Dunnock
Thrushes, Warblers and Flycatchers
Tits to Buntings

It was compiled and edite by a chap called Ron Kettle.

Bird calls are a useful thing to have for sure. I found a 7" flexi of bird calls in a stack of records that someone left in our house....we seem to have them for keeps now. It sounds really awful but that's to be expected for a flexi with no sleeve thats been schleped around between a bunch of other records in a plastic bag.

Anyhow....today I got Straight Outta Compton by NWA for 2.99. Also Dragnet by The Fall. And Weekend by Goddard on DVD.

Did you like the Virgin Insanity LP?
I bought it, and was severely underwhelmed by the non-charming amateurishness of the music and the seriously painful, ultra-naive lyrics. I wanted to like it, I really did, but I couldn't get into it.
I saw an original go for $2600.00 on ebay once too, crazy.
If you did like it, tell me what you liked about it and maybe I will give it another spin, try to see it from your perspective?

i was tempted to buy the reissue of that virgin insanity LP based on what i read, maybe i'll download it now instead. Have either of you heard either the Roots Of Madness or Mark Tucker reissues on DeStijl? How are they?

i found both VU live 69 cds used for 12 which was awesome. And I also got a stooges boot on vinyl, detroit rehearsals 73. The stooges boot is cool to have, but I kinda wish I had just gotten something else instead.
