Yeah, the same people who bitch about Franz often worship the Killers. Let's all agree that they both suck.
Except for that one riff in that one song. |
You know, in all reality, the album of the year, by far, and there won't be anything even close is... The 40th Anniversary Henry Cow Box Set (9 cd's and 1 dvd!!!!!!!!!). But I guess that doesn't really count since it's all old unreleased stuff. But still... damn!

AC
DOOM Black Dice Tim Hecker Emeralds Dan Deacon Wavves Wet Hair Thee Oh Sees all great Phoenix is fun, Mi Ami is fun... didn't dig Phaunt's new ones, specially Passage the Predator Vision/Sun Araw split is real good too |
ive been saving up for that henry cow box, im not prepared to make master list yet. american tapes has been blowing my mind releaser after release these days
i really like the waterspots side of thier split with iovae. shared members with blues control, and really great ominous, drugged, sittin by the dock of th bay, dronescapes. thier live shows are awesome, a dude and a chick nealin on the ground with elctronics and a great flourescent blue, light tube fixture setup. totally stoned.

Really liking that Wavves album... very addictive.
Of course.
Also, I dunno what people are talking about, his new album is way better than the first one! |
They both seem even to me hah.
I've never heard the first one, but Wavvves sure is amazing. Best release so far this year, imo.
ok here are some ive heard and that are rockin me:
kurt vile and the violators-hunchback 12" kurt vile-god is sayin this to you yximalloo-unpop us girls-me and yoko magik markers-balf quarry incapacitants-box is stupid abner jay-true story of abner jay andrew coltrane-plagued orphas ashnav-ten layer terror blank dogs-seconds c spencer yeh-the strangler daniel higgs-hymnprovisations for banjo dylan nyoukis-carrion hut eat skull-wild and inside black dice-repo black lips-200 million thousand dead luke-the black plague in mono group bambino james ferrarro-star digital theatere infinity window-artiicial mignight (arbor is def one of my fave labels right now) nihilist assault group-silent move pelt-a stone for angs maclise pink noise-gold light 7" skul defekts-the temple thee oh sees-help zaimph-serpent's bite ash pool-saturn's slave 7" hospital and arbor are the two most impressive labels right now i think. dom has really stretched the boundaries of what hospitalis bout these last three years, its just like total 80s darkness worship; industrial, power electronics, cold minimalism, synthpop, black metal, shit, just awesome stuff. Psyched to see Cold Cave at No Fun |
by the way, does anyone pay any attention to excepter's stream? cause the STREAM 58 they've released last month was fantastic, especially some parts (I think the one I enjoy the most is around 45:00)
yeterday i bought wavvves
its really really good |
Didn't realize there was a new Zaimph or Eat Skull. Will have to investigate... actually, fuck it, I'm going to have a listen to everything you mentioned I haven't heard yet.

I don't know if reissues count but I picked up Red Red Meat - Bunny Gets Paid after only having heard Califone before and it's quality.
The new Gutbucket release is good. The new Faust is as expected...Awesome. I really liked Wavves at first but found I tired of them quickly. |
I was totally tryin to avoid Wavves, Vivian Girls, all that stuff for a while. You have no idea how pissed I was to hear the pretty much both bands perform as advertised. I havnt heard "Wavvves" but I have heard "Wavves", in fact my last plain flight from Boston to Tucson I musta listened to it on my ipod about four times. Addictive as fuck.
Does anyone like Heavy Winged? Theyre like really heavy tribal improv noise rock, and I love them |

lets just say i have some pretty useful users on soulseek |
i wish i had a car out here. this summer my papa is giving me his vintage lincoln as part of his will (hes very very old). thing is fully loaded. cant wait to drive around listening to RRRecycled casettes in my fancy car in a fancy neighborhood and totally confusing the locals. ill prolly drive it cross country so i an have it at school.
i listen to most of my music on my ipod walkin around on campus between class and such. im ALWAYS busy as fuck, so I ususally just rip a shitload of stuff on at once and listen to it for months. I have fucking 24,229 songs on that fucker now. Thing is like, gnarly. I love playing shuffle and right after James Brown I get Charle Draheim. |
Me too.
My favorite user on the new version of soulseek is a guy named Fuck Humans ... this guy has EVERYTHING. |

Damn batreleaser that kurt vile stuff is great!
no joke, pitch perfect really. dude totally pulls his thing off, but the violators 12 i think is really special. he sound phenomenal with a full band, and who ever drums on that record is a fucking beast!
Matt sent me the bubblegum octopus full length in the mail the other day. It's fucking awesome. I'm not into "Egrind" (aka "music I was making 10 years ago, along with Libido Airbag and SMES..."), screaming over video game sounds and all that nonsense. However, Matt actually has TALENT. He's playing bass in Giggle the Ozone, one of favorite bands around right now (who are recording a new album right now; they're amazing, think Captain Beefheart meets enya). Insanely talented musician. Like jpop meets grindcore. But good.
Yeah bubblegum octupus rule. I was randomly added by them when I first got myspace actually!
batreleaser, have you heard xray eyeballs? I think they'd be up your alley.
ill check em
hows bout that new thermals album?
My friend who's a big Thermals fan let me listen to them and they are unoriginal and dull. But that's just moi's opinion!
i really have no clue what you guys keep talking about. i'm getting old.

After some intensive listening last night and today, the new Intelligence album Fake Surfers has joined this list. Zola Jesus' Tsar Bomba is knocking on the door, too, and after a little more digestion, the new Wet Hair, too. |
Quote:
haha...well they're definitely unoriginal...and i also used to think they were dull but that last album grew on me as a simple, enjoyable listen |
Fake Surfers by The Intelligence is great.
blank dogs - under and under!
blank dogs rule

since when did you decide to actually get some files on your slsk? o_O O-O O_o
depends. there's actually space on it sometimes that isn't taken up by my mom's shit.
