Can somebody PLEASE explain the whole Laila/Cantakerous thing. It was pointed out to me today that something weird was going on, I miss everything.

Laila came back to post a thank you to you for sending her some LPs, and included a photo of your generous donation.
Cantankerous just wanted some of that sweet plastic action. Pretty simple, but there were some good photos that came of it.

I do. I have a separate list for albums on CD and mp3 in a Word document, and I have a spreadsheet of vinyl, sorted alphabetically and includes details (7 or 12", RPM, label, etc.)

I'm so anal I'm vanishing inside myself.

Nowhere. You have to send me some vinyl before I show you.

Some records you just have to whistle to and they will pop up without reticence.No need to categorize or put stuff into an order at all.

OK (fellow) nerds, here is a question for you.
Split LPs: file under Various Artists or under one of the two artists? If under an artist name, which do you choose? The recent Xasthur/Nortt split LP was graphically designed so that either side could be viewed as the "front" side, with the graphic being flipped on each face so that the jacket opening was always on the right.
Vexing.
I put it under Xasthur because I had other Xasthur stuff.

Never had one like that. I usually file it under who is on the front.

i need to catalogue mine, i don't have a lot of rare stuff, but certain things would be a complete pain to replace


on the split LP question, i would put it in the section of the artist i like more

I think your Haino collection would cost a fairly ridiculous sum to reacquire.
