Some video games I've played feature bowling as one of its minigames. I'm talking about GTA4 and Yakuza 2 and 3. I do better playing bowls in those video games than I do playing bowls in real life.

canadian bowlin gis different to ten pin. there are only five pins and the ball is not one you can put your fingers in so its quite difficult. i still love it though.

you can find ten pin in canada still, so i've never bothered to try 5 pin because it looks lame

If I had to worry about bowling shoes I wonder what I'd do if I had to take/use a bus/train/shopping trolley/elevator button/handrail/park bench etc.
Just get home and take a shower after the game if you feel that worried.

One of the hip clubs in NYC right now is Brooklyn Bowl, where you can see bands and bowl. I used to spend Saturday afternoons at the bowling alley that used to be on the upper Haight (now Amoeba).

Funny, the shoes don't bother me much. I wear socks.

fugazi played Houston once at a place calle Rack N Roll, which was a huge dank bowling alley with a satge and metal/punk shows.
