Canada is okay. Pretty in a lot of places but really... not all that interesting.

I'm grateful to live here though.

i love canada. back when i lived in upstate ny, i was only 3 hours from the border/montreal area. montreal is a blast, ive been a handful of times.

also, nova scotia is great, and i went to inverness (sp?) in the summer, and it was a really beautiful campsite near the ocean, surrounded by rocky cliffs. beautiful. canadian vacations are where its at.

and the people are friendlier than americans.

montreal has the best nightlife ever! (if you're into that kind of thing) and if not, they have a decent music scene aswell.
a really cool place to visit is Algonquin Park in the summer, its in northern ontario. i spent alot of my youth camping there and its just surreal.

public transport is fine in Vancouver. we always walked or took the bus. :)

the scenery sounds really spectacular, but I dont know if I would be able to see that kind of stuff if I went in the winter time.. I'd die of cold haha.

jerf 08.20.2009 11:41 PM

yeah, its more of a summer-type-vacation :)

I live in Canada.

I go to Montreal all the time, it's a 5 hour drive from here, it's pretty bilingual, so if you don't speak French you should be okay. Montreal is my favourite city I have ever been too as well.

Toronto, where I am, is pretty dumpy, wouldn't be my first choice to visit if I was coming to Canada. It rains here all the time too, lol.

My brother use to live in Victoria/Vancouver, it's suppose to be really nice there, and along the coastline has the warmest winters, but a lot of rain.

Never been to Banff, but the mountains there are suppose to be really nice, if you come in the summer, I am pretty sure that you can bike on the Rockies, and you can ski all around there too.

The East coast is suppose to be nice too, but I haven't been there.

Hope I helped a bit

I've always found on trips to the Great White North, that Canadians are more apt to strike up a conversation with you, and tend to be more friendly compared to Americans. Americans (or maybe it was just us New Yorkers) have a more "leave me alone, don't make eye contact, don't engage anyone" attitude. From my own personal experiences, of course.

pbradley 08.22.2009 03:44 AM

Actually, I change my mind. Canada in the Fall.

well yes, you are talking about new yorkers.

demonrail666 08.22.2009 11:18 AM

i've not been to canada but of the trips i've made to different parts of the US, New Yorkers were easily the friendliest. But only to people from London. They seem to loathe everyone else. Understandably.
