Yeah, it's with UK Apache, although Shy FX were kind of the 'big deal'. It's a shame they went the way of the coffee table later on.

The problem with a lot of dance music for me is that I don't DJ, so I can't be fucked collecting 12"s. There are probably thousands of brilliant jungle tunes that I don't own just because they're on 12"s. But, y'know, it's music for dancing to, not for the bedroom, so it's just as well.

I have the same problem (now). jungle just started to hit about the time I stopped buying 12"s, so the ONLY thing I have is that various artists "best of" thing (which despite being a various artists "best of" thing, I love to death).

and you really don't HAVE to dance to it. head nodding will suffice.

Maybe it's just me. I can do the head-nodding to a lot of things, but dnb/ jungle were the first things I went out raving to, so I'll forever associate it with being twatted on pills and dancing like a mental.

Out of curiosity, what's the big thing in dance in the States at the moment? Britain seems to be in a bit of a grime/ dubstep/ wonky/ Hardcore/ donk/ bassline fuzz at the moment (or at least the bits of the dance world I'm in touch with).

Glice 06.22.2009 04:08 PM

I didn't mean to give the impression wonky is a real thing, by the way.

hopefully this can be answered by someone who is younger, cooler and less geographically challenged than I.

I only know jungle because it's over 15 years old.

that said, I would totally listen to wonky just to say I did.

You want to start saying 'yeah, wonky is a bit over-played I reckon' for all sorts of wanker points. Pretending to be jaded by a scene that was only made up a couple of months ago is all sorts of scene points (especially as that scene doesn't really exist).

I'm sorry but I have no audio at work. I guess it really doesn't matter.

anyone who cares for that is obviously shit and has no sense of taste what-so-ever.

Wonky stopped being cool a couple of hours ago.

only old people, undocumented immigrants and chavs still listen to it. which are you?

I think I'm doing it right!
