I want the veve of Legba, but I'm serious, my minion would kill me. I'm also uneasy about what kind of energy that would draw. I've seen the Serpent and the Rainbow; I know what happens when you start messing with voodoo. but, yeah, it would be cool.

so it's looking like robot. although I still don't know if I even want a tattoo. I've gone this long (ie: really long) without one and it seems mostly pointless.

Well if it seems pointless then don't! Its too hard to scrub it off if you change yr mind after. And its expensive. And it hurts. But i think they both sound neat, original, and tattoos are a fun thing to get...

my friend is really into having me have it done at his friend's shop in Texas, but I don't know them from anybody. do I REALLY want "some crappy robot" that I've had "some dude" draw up in five minutes?? I'm afraid that it would lack meaning, and I'd start to hate it.

the voodoo would be different, they would be simply tracing a pattern. again there's always the issue of would this make me a slave to a voodoo Loa? whether or not I have enough soul left to bargain with is debatable, but my minion's shit flipping would be an immediate problem and it's hard to find good help these days.

I totally agree about randoms doing yr tattoos. There is a girl who has been a practicing artist for about 10 years, and just started tattooing about 3 years ago, she is doing my next one, her work is AMAZING.

I think its important to have the right person do it, whether it be for sentimental reasons or because they tattoo really well.
