http://rapidshare.com/files/145635496/S-JAS.part2.rar Not sure why the dude put it in two parts, but okay then! If you want the last song, you'll have to download part 2, put it somewhere on your computer where you can find it, and open up part 2 with part 1. It's not as confusing as it sounds but it's still retarded. And actually, I can't get it to work right so I'm just going to download the last (really short) song off of soulseek. |
Actually I don't care that much about the last song since it's a minute long. I'll hear it eventually! Why the fuck did the guy who put those on rapidshare do that? Uh.. anyway.
Half-way through my first listen. Definitely his weirdest and most inconsistent album. I think I like it! Great bass playing, robot vocals, and other stuff. It's definitely different... |
HA! ADAM, YOU ARE RECEIVING A PM FROM ME ABOUT .....NOW!!!!!
its damn fucking good!! |
i dont like it

Haha, I already replied to it before I saw this. I got the last song off of soulseek. Yeah, this album's not one of his best but it's still got some great shit on it. |
Wow, no one else has opinions about this?
|
Now that it's leaked, does it sound wanky? I don't want any more of that fucking boring shit with 2 good songs like his last two albums.
|
Heh. Well, if you're not a big fan of his great bass soloing abilities, you may not want this album!
|
It depends: Are there fuckin' crazy drums going on in the background or something? Like Menelec, I think that was the best mix of his jazz wanking and breakcore.
|
Hm. Well... Every track's completely different.
I dunno. Not trying to be a dick... but you definitely shouldn't go into Squarepusher with expectations; you won't get what you want. I can appreciate many aspects of his work, probably more than a lot of people on here. That doesn't mean I think he makes cohesive albums; because all of his albums have filler. This one's no different. But I find the whole thing interesting and most importantly very musical for the duration -- even if I wish he'd make music a certain way, he never will, though he shows flashes of it on many tracks. It's best to just take it as it is and not expect anything. But yeah I do enjoy the album. And some of the tracks have the crazy drums. I don't really care about the drums, I'm more into his bass playing and melodies. A pretty weird album. |
I heard it yesterday and I didn't like it at all, but then again I'm not the biggest fan of his bass solos.
That said, it might grow on me after a few more listens. |
So, this album's amazing.
Track # 10 is probably the best Squarepusher track ever actually... slightly beating out venus no 17, tundra, and theme for ernest borgnine... Only like two of his songs feature long bass solos.. most feature just awesome melodies, distorted bass, jazzy real drums, and all are experimental and catchy and awesome. A very uneven and weird album but after a few listens I'd rank it somewhere amongst his best. Better than the fillerfest Ultravisitor and the overly-clean Hello Everything... |

but I just listened to it one time. I can tell that I will probably like better the more often i listen to it (like every squarepusher album before, too) |
Listen to track 10.
|
damn thats insane!!!
how he blends all the different sounds is awesome somehow my downloaded version missed that track, wtf? |
Haha yeah.
Something I've noticed about Squarepusher is he always tends to put his best songs near the end of his albums...... |
thats right.
selection sixteen s last tracks are some of the best, sounding like being done in one day. in the good way |
yes.
I LOVE Selection Sixteen. As far as I can tell, it's pretty underrated compared to his other works. Very dark album. |
yes it was my first and still is the most played one. so I would say its kinda my favourite. the last tracks are just sooooo good. really dark and pushing
|
Hahaha what the fuck is going on with track 10?
It's fucking awesome. |
