not sure though, you'll have to ask him yourself (but that's what I got out of it).

no, i meant the backstabbing. i tried to stab you, but the blade wouldn't get through the wireless. it's ok, i'll be content to do evil within my physical surroundings.

never bring a knife to a LASERBEAM-BATTLE.

it's not the wireless. my wife uses that all the time and her friends manage to get the knives in deep (right between the shoulder blades). that's what she gets for having friends!

I'm too ethereal for cuchillos. general apathy is much easier on the psyche in the long-term.

the fact it has so much information it's addictive.

gmku 05.15.2007 03:35 PM

I hate the Rate Your Music community forums. The moderators are tight asses, and every other post is about some kid discovering the Beatles for the first time, or somebody asking what-the-fuck-is-up with Trout Mask Replica because he "doesn't get it," or somebody else wondering how come everyone thinks Horses is a great album because he "doesn't get it." It should be called Hate My Music.

the fact that human interaction becomes more and more irrelevant and discovery is no longer a challenge at all, with anything... everything is a few clicks away.. any movie, any band, any video game... in a way, that's cool, but in a way, that seems to deaden and lessen things.. i remember when i used to buy albums, and i had to listen to them over and over because that's all i had.. now i can have 600 albums in 5 minutes. i mean, obviously, that's cool, but yeah.

I know what you mean.

gmku 05.15.2007 03:48 PM

Yes, so true. It's all instant gratification and no depth.

Everyneurotic 05.15.2007 03:53 PM

i know it's trendy to say the wikipedia is just a bunch of lies and that it sucks but, actually, i think it's pretty awesome, to have a lot of information and have topics that would need expert books just to explain what they are and you can have a pretty good introduction plus a couple of links to explore further AND THAT anyone can contribute to expand on any entry (yes, a lot of idiots do this, but a lot of experts also contribute).

i like the punkness of it.

what i hate about the internet? so many files, so little time (and hard disc space and bandwidth).

i don't know, i still get excited when i find an album or a band i've been meaning to check out; but i get way more excited when i receive an album or a cd or a cd-r or a tape or whatever on the mail.

I was always a bit cold about wiki, but I've grown to appreciate it, and latey I've been editing and expanding some of the articles, which I'm quite enjoying.

The only thing I hate about the internet is the feeling that a nasty virus could be just a click away.

gmku 05.15.2007 03:57 PM

I think the thing about "discovery" that atsonic mentions is what bothers me most. There's something magical about stumbling upon a great album on your own, without relying on thousands of reviews about it on the Internet, or listening to samples on Amazon. Making access to music so easy spoils the fun.

Oh man, sooo many things.

-IE is one of the few browsers that has a built in FTP manager
-DIV aligns can be a bitch to make when on EVERY computer they look different
-DIV floats need to have more options
-People misuse the internet for unethical things and there's false information
-BG images cannot have a specified size, so it makes it longer to load by creating a 100%x100% DIV with the pasted image
-Flash is not yet bundled so not all computers support flash webpages

Jico help me out here!

whaaaa???

-divs are easy to handle when you know the broken box model w/ the -padding applied differently to some browsers. fixable w/ box hack or by nesting.
-the unspecified size is great! you can make sliding doors to reveal more of -the background as you expand-- like wikipedia does. i use that for buttons.
-flash is in over 95% of computers! watchu talking about willis?
-plus i hate flash websites in general

however, my #1 web gripe is:

VERTICAL ALIGNS ARE A BITCH

followed by...

-you cannot define the with of a element by a combination of units, such as width: 80%-20px

-we can't yet "lend" fonts to browsers, so we're basically stuck with verdana and georgia for decent-looking fonts that work cross-platform.

-i agree w/ the floats, positioning as well...

-the ones who make decisions about the web are not the experts but ignorant morons with money!!

yeah, I use nesting quite a bit. I find having position: absolute very difficult to do proper aligning, so I usually just use floats.

If it's a 1024x768 background image, and on a 800x600 monitor, it expands the window size to include the whole image. It can sometimes be a tricky one! You can't make it 100% / 100%

Installing flash plugins on Linux's firefox doesn't work half the time. It would be nice to be bundled with OS's.

Good call on the valigns, absolutly right about that. I also think CSS should have a "corner radius" attribute for divs. And right on with the fonts. It would be neat if as well as the information and stylesheet, a font can be pinged from the web server and you can just 'temporarily' use it. Verdana's pretty much all I use

E-cards.

I sent one to my mom once an I felt let such a careless prick.
