Now how can I rationalize ordering the new Ken Bruen novel from the UK?

Now's a good time to visit New York... Um... maybe not.

This is righteous. In England we always get fucked over by high pricing as our currency is worth more than most. When it comes to importing stuff from just about anywhere else in the world though... YEARGH!

The old maxim is that whatever you can buy for £1 over here you can buy for $1 in the US of A. If that really is the case, I might as well buy all my shit from over there in future. Even with shipping prices included ($4/£2.00 per CD), it'll still work out a fair bit cheaper.

I'm going to Hong Kong this summer - hopefully the rates are still going to be sky high.

EDIT: I suppose our exporters are going to be none-too-pleased. Plus tourists - this is already one of the most expensive places in the world for Americans to visit because of the exchange rate.

problem w/ the strong currency is that it hampers your exports. my local mini cooper dealer must be biting his nails in anguish. or is there a way to counter that, ye economics aficionados?

Well, Sonicl.

The £4 you sent for the mix tapes gave me $7.57. Pretty darn close.
