Inside Inzane Studios-"Synth Duo pt.1"

its john and tovah olson (dead machines) podcast thingy, and this episode is olson and dilloway playing synthesizers over synth records playing in the background. kinda neat i guess, just sounds like they were sort of bored and happened to be listeneing to synth music though.

The Crystal Stilts's album (www.myspace.com/crystalstilts).

I like it, it's hard to catagorize - and not in the lame NME-'it's-indie-music-but-it-has-synthesisers-too!'-sense but because it's so unique. It's really atmospheric: gloomy and psychedelic, makes me think of a deserted, haunted funfair which is strangely seductive (I'm thinking of Carnival Of Souls not Scooby Doo), and some nice psychobilly guitar-riffs too. Can't wait to see them play Leeds.

I've been indulging in quite a bit of retail therapy lately. The latest instalment:

DJ Olive - Triage (the last of his fantastic Sleeping Pill trilogy)
The Sight Below - Glider (highly recommended for fans of Gas)
Field - From here We Go Sublime (also recommended for fans of Gas)

I think it's one of those albums you have to listen to a couple of times before it really hits you.
