DUDES -- I got FAST STRIKER, the newest dreamcast game and it's BADASS. In the top 5 games for the system. Get this game asap -- well, it's OOP, I read somewhere the company made well over a million dollars profit, which explains why they're making a new game already called GUN LORD!:

http://gun-lord.com/

Yep! From what I can tell, this looks like a badass Turrican/Contra/Gunstar Heroes game... for the Dreamcast! NG.DEV:TEAM continues to fucking rule. Keep putting out awesome NEW Dreamcast games, boys!

But yeah, Fast Striker is blowing me away right now. To think, the best new game around is a fucking new Dreamcast game.

My top 3...

1. Super Nintendo
2. Dreamcast
3. Wii

The coolest thing about the Wii is that it plays all my Gamecube games. So it's like a Gamecube, but with the Wii library, Netflix, and the Wiiware/Virtual Console. Plus I can check the weather on it, and any system I can play both Killer 7 and Super Metroid on is a fine one, indeed.

Video game technology is getting really interesting lately. I remember when the Wii first came out and many brushed off the motion-control as a gimmick. The industry legitimately had a Nintendo Revolution... and if you're nerdy enough to get that joke, shame on you. But now we have the Kinect, and the 3DS is coming out soon. With all this motion control and 3D technology swarming about... I sense a very primitive virtual reality (Virtual Boy lulz) coming forth. Nintendo will probably be the ones to drop the ball, given their unarguably creative approach to the industry these days.

How is playing games on the Kinect? I can imagine that being pretty restrictive for designers. At least on the Wii, and PS3 Move you have a controller you can put inside a steering wheel, gun, etc.

Hmmmm....

^ woah. what game is that?

EVOLghost 03.16.2011 03:45 PM

Oh yeah! I finally beat Streets of Rage 3

Fuck yeah.

I cheated at first by playing Easy mode...but the games cuts you off like 2 levels before and tells you to try harder...so I went back to Normal difficulty and I beat it. I kind of cheated cause I switched to Player 2 after my continues finished.

I also think there are multiple endings...if you save the mayor or not. I actually got the good ending yesterday too! I saved the fucking mayor. fuck yeah.

That's Cosmic Smash. Aside from Resident Evil: Code Vernoica, and Chu Chu Rocket - I'm pretty sure it's my favorite Dreamcast game ever. It's like a mixture of Virtua Tennis, Rez, and Arkanoid/Break Out (whatever you prefer to call it).

Here's the best vid I could find : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7TKr-i4xEs

Gungrave Overdose is a title that I have sorely missed since selling my original PS2. It is the action-packed sequel to SEGA's critically-panned Gungrave (PS2). There's also an anime series, which may be the source material, or based off of the games - I'm not sure.

Either way, I have a lot to say about this one. This game is pure and simple, balls-to-the-wall FUN. It's a blazingly fast-paced, stylistic, arcade-style third-person shooter where everything in your environment is fully destructible, and your ammo is unlimited.

You play as Grave, an undead gunslinger who sports a mysterious steel coffin chained to his shoulders (which is used as a melee weapon, a shield, and a rocket launcher-type deal for special attacks).

Along with Grave, there are 2 other playable characters, Rocketbilly Redcadillac, who fights with an electric guitar with which he shoots jolts of lightning from, and flaming, masked swordsman, Juji Kabane.

Each level starts off with an order to "KICK THEIR ASS!!" and you are instantly thrown into the fray. From there you travel from area, to area, clearing out all (or most) baddies until you are able to reach the next. It's like an old-school beat 'em up, in that sense. You'll be gunning down villains non-stop in lobbies, meat lockers, rooftops, and just about anywhere else you could ever want to unload multiple full clips... and that's just the first few levels!

Land enough shots in a row, and you'll start gathering beats which are stored and used to unearth massively damaging special attacks. These work especially great against the numerous bosses that you will encounter along your journey.

In-between the action are often beautifully animated cut-scenes, and RPG-like dialogues between partially animated character avatars that progress the game's story of ridding the streets of a deadly drug called Seed.

The only real flaw of the game that I can think of is that the camera can sometimes be an absolute menace, especially in more confined areas, which can cause an infuriating amount of unwarranted damage from your opponents. This is rare enough though, and definitely doesn't do much to dampen the wild arcade experience that is Gungrave Overdose. For an obscure budget-title on a last gen console, this is one game that surely should not be missed.

Been playing Street Fighter 3 a lot lately via Street Fighter Anniversary Collection. Go Dudley, go!

Started a new game of Mega Man 8 last night. Astro Man is the only boss I have left. I hate playing that fucker's stage.
