Nope, just a coincidence, haha!

But DAMN was that a treat. Very stylishly directed, and the ***spoiler*** human meat looked eerily authentic *** end spoiler***. There's nothing quite like the feeling of discovering a gruesome gem like this.

This, on the other hand, was simply dreadful. The kills were painfully unsatisfying. Not even the most exquisite bud in the world could make this cinematic dreck bearable.

viewtiful_alan 08.01.2009 01:11 AM

Yeah my friends always want to rent that... I say fuck no.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 08.01.2009 01:34 AM

The deaths couldn't have been more disappointing. Upon renting this piece of shit, I expected the bong to physically kill people (suffocation with smoke, hots to the throat, drowning in bong water, etc.), which could've turned out amazingly well. Instead, after the bong is smoked, it's voodoo curse sucks out your soul, and places it inside the bong. Inside the bong is a strip club, which the killer bong (inside of the killer bong???) orders strippers to give lapdances, and makeout with it's victims, and eventually be killed off by the stripper's bras. For example: In one scene, a bra has a skull on each cup, that bite into a surfer stoner's neck; another bra has shark heads on each cup...biting off a stoner's hands.

It's even worse than it sounds, has one of the worst soundtracks I've ever heard, and even features that annoying Jack in the Box from Dollman vs. Demonic Toys, and other characters from lameass Full Moon releases (they can't all be Ginger Snaps). Charles Band can eat shit, for all I care.

Public Enemies.

Thought it was real cool.

viewtiful_alan 08.01.2009 07:37 PM

I got the criterion one with both versions. Should I watch the original, or the shortened one with William S. Burroughs?

"What Just Happened"

So funny I have watched it 3 times this month.

Dead-Air 08.03.2009 09:41 AM

I watched Dead Ringers last night. At first I thought it was just cheesy, but then it got a bit more actually disturbing. My wife wanted to see it because she saw it years ago and wanted to watch the bondage sex scene again.

atsonicpark 08.03.2009 09:42 AM

i cried the first time i watched dead ringers

coincedentally i just sold my copy of it yesterday

i'm selling or giving away every movie i own

I watched:

Baby Mama : LAME. I thought it could be fun, I was wrong. A couple good scenes (like in every fuckin' comedy...) but nothing more.

Children of Men: watched it a few times before, I reeeeeally love how it's shot and the atmosphere reminds me of city 17 which is a big plus ha ha. The car scene is insane.

I wanna watch some "funny" movies , those semi-pointless summertime-cheer up flicks (NO stuff like american pie...), dunno what to look for...Forgetting Sarah Marshall is still in the "top few" (?) of the genre imo, among semi-recent flicks. I wanna watch the hangover (not expecting a masterpiece, I just hope it's funny), uh.

I'm tired.

if only Julian Fucking Schnabel could have directed it. Then im sure it would deserve its cult.

Sonic Youth 37 08.03.2009 08:16 PM

Happiness is amazing. What's wrong with it? It's brilliant.

Actually, now that I think about it, Todd Solondz has never made a bad movie. I love Dollhouse, Storytelling, and Palindromes.
