Well that Sublime Frequencies thing was possibly the greatest gig I've ever been too. Pretty much everyone else there seemed to think so too. Never experienced anything quite like it. STUNNING! If you have a chance to see this tour, DO SO!

DJ Rick 05.27.2009 03:32 PM

Tomorrow...

That sounds ace - I'm seeing their London show this Friday, and can't wait for it.

pokkeherrie 05.27.2009 04:04 PM

Yeah, I'm looking forward to that Subliume Frequencies night next week in Rotterdam myself.

But first Ducktails, Aethr Myth'd, William Basinski, Aluk Todolo and Lightning Bolt.

DJ Rick 05.29.2009 06:05 PM

If you're anywhere near Davis or Sacto on Saturday...

This is kinda like a showcase of new crazy creative young improv talents in Davis. Shit is getting really good right now around here! I featured this family tree of projects here in this post....

I'm really hoping to make one of the SY shows in TN, either the Knoxville or the Nashville one. Anybody else going to either of these?

Sonic Youth 37 06.04.2009 07:26 PM

I'll be at both, as will another boardie, plus I think one more boardie at each of the shows. Just FYI, the Knoxville show is seated and when I bought a ticket for a friend about 3 weeks ago it was in row N, center. Nashville show is GA.

floatingslowly 06.04.2009 07:40 PM

I have to choose between:

Peter Murphy
Sonic Youth
De La Soul

I've never seen De La Soul, but fuck man, Peter Fucking Murphy and Sonic Fucking Youth.

I don't really have enough time for all three. :(

Sonic Youth 37 06.04.2009 07:42 PM

Divide your memory banks into thirds

Shit, I just looked and Peter Murphy is playing here July 1st. Sorry floats :(

ScreamingSchool 06.04.2009 09:17 PM

I'm kinda broke so I can either catch the New York Dolls on the 9th or Peter Murphy on the 24th, both in June. I've seen The New York Dolls before so it will probably be Peter Murphy. Should be fun.

automatic bzooty 06.04.2009 09:20 PM

none whatsoever.

i'm not a big fan of this "fml" thing, but...

FML.

cuneyt81 06.05.2009 12:26 PM

Tonight in Sacto...

@ Funcastle
2309 L Street
8pm sharp

THE MAYYORS
THE HUNCHES
THE BLIMP
THE PIZZAS

This is one of four last-ever Hunches shows. Their album Exit Dreams is one of the handful of best of '09 so far.

This is also the Mayyors Deads 12" EP release party. EP of the year! Makes their two 7"es damn near obsolete.

This show is gonna be like the "earthquake party" scene in that Upright Citizens Brigade episode. Wear football pads?

Show wraps up at 10pm...then we're gonna walk over to this...

@ The Hub
1819 23rd Street (btw R & S Streets)
10:15-ish

PRINCE RAMA OF AYODHYA
WHITE HINTERLAND
ART LESSING & THE FLOWER VATO

First show = catharsis party
Second show = trippy zone-out cooldown

PERFECT NIGHT!

Whatever the rest of the world if doing tonight....well, that is unfortunate for you...sorry!

I'm contemplating a MBV road trip...It's nearly 6 hours from where I live. I'll be at the Sonic Youth show on the 10th. Then Todd Snider on the 18th and Toots and the Maytals on the 23rd.

Sonic Youth 37 06.27.2009 10:02 PM

Scratch Peter Murphy for me...I probably won't be able to make, which sucks because it's only 20 minutes away and the others are at least a 3 hour drive.
