Said it before/say it again: THIRD is the shiz.

Anybody get the THIRD Remix Album? Done by, uh, Noise Floor Crew or something? Any good?

al shabbray 08.18.2008 02:52 PM

how is the portishead?
I am a little afraid...they cant keep up with their "legend"

noisereductions 08.18.2008 03:08 PM

al, the Portishead is incredible. Trust me.

al shabbray 08.18.2008 03:17 PM

ok, I believe you, and I will order it via amazon.
I always loved portishead, but I was thinkin that it cant be good that they are back...dunno really why, but its good to hear that I am wrong with that

noisereductions 08.18.2008 03:20 PM

Yeah I wasn't sure about the Portishead either, but I was channel surfing one night and caught some band playing on Jools Holland that seemed pretty tight and naggingly familiar, and it just kept building and building until I was totally crazy about it, and then the screen showed "Portishead - The Rip" and I was like "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! How did I not get that?". So I immediately decided to buy the album, but it took me like 3 months to actually do it. Damn that's a great track. Haven't heard beyond the first 4 tracks of the album yet, but it seems great so far...

I'm not excited about the Gza yet. But I'll get it. Because he's great.

Okay, last trip to the store until my Nels Cline cds come in.

Arular - MIA
Kala - MIA
Boy In Da Corner - Dizzee Rascal
Maths + English - Dizzee Rascal
(yes I realize I'm 1-2 years late on the Grime scene)
Double Nickels on the Dime - Minutemen (Used!)
Nouns - No Age (Used!)
(come to think of it, everything except Arular was used or a promo copy hence $2-6 less than a new copy)

All the tracks off of the album are streaming on his myspace and most of them are fucking great, the man truly is the Genius.

noisereductions 08.19.2008 07:17 AM

Genius... clever! haha. I'll definitely check this out. Who produced, do you know? I thought the last one he did with Muggs was actually pretty damn good. Didnt hear the remix album though.
