MY guess:
My understanding is tha tmost of the early RZA-produced solo albums were loose affairs. Meaning that sometimes it wasn't even like "Oh this is a session for Raekwon's album..." it was just RZA making beats, and whoever was hanging out and wanted to record could. And basically it was a contest. Whoever dropped the sickest verses, those would stick. And then it would be like, "Oh well I guess this beat belongs to Raekwon then for his album". Y'know? So if that really was the case (as RZA claimed in the Wu-Tang Bible) then it would stand to reason that (a) ODB wasn't around as much, (b) he was but he didn't try to record as much or (c) he did, but the verses weren't as good.
