long overdue, sorry for taking long to post this, i don't have the setlist.

atari 2600 02.27.2007 10:02 AM

yes

I don't have the setlist for that other one at Crazy Al's either; it was seeded at dime and greenlight posted to the group.

Everyneurotic 02.27.2007 10:19 AM

you can figure out most of the songs, it's not a huge set, but it's great.

i also have the sets from the same night by the contortions and the erasers (short lived band with robert quine); i remember reading on confusion is next that thurston was at this show and that theorethical girls also played.

It was just all that Coca-Cola drank beforehand.

Thanks for this one.

atari 2600 02.27.2007 12:51 PM

Perhaps...

ha, you're funny today.

You've gotta be on the juice to get the vibe...and the audience were on different fuels.

But seriously, I wouldn't have been nervous at all...that is, up until the time right as I went out there, and then I'm pretty sure I'd start feeling funky.

"funky" as in "ill" as in "bad" (but not "bad" meaning "good" but "bad" meaning "bad")

confused?

atari 2600 02.27.2007 04:55 PM

Charles Mingus Quartet* & Quintet
Odd Fellow Palæet
Copenhagen, Denmark
4/14/64
FM soundboard

After I downloaded this show myself, I noticed that I also have a b&w video from the pre-concert rehearsal for the show that had occurred on the night previous in Stockholm, Sweden.
This is from FM broadcast and the sound is excellent and crystal clear on this one.
The show starts with Mingus talking about being arrested for shoplifting earlier in the day. The first set starts minus Jaki Byard who was still in police custody*, but he arrives shortly thereafter. Mingus explains that the arrests were due to a misunderstanding. He and Jaki had paid the clerk, but unknowingly with the incorrect amount, and as they were on the sidewalk outside, they were confronted by a policeman.

the band:
Charles Mingus: bass
Eric Dolphy: alto sax, flute, bass clarinet
Clifford Jordan: tenor sax
Jaki Byard: piano
Dannie Richmond: drums
with Johnny Coles on trumpet

Disc 1 (early set)
1. intro 6:28
2. So Long, Eric 19:13
3. intro 1:47
4. AT FW USA 4:11
5. intro 1:33
6. Orange Was the Color Of Her Dress, Then Blue Silk 15:12
7. Meditations 22:21

Disc 2 (late set)
1. intro 0:46
2. Ow! 25:36
3. Fables Of Faubus 36:43

TT 134:11

7. interlude - Yankee Doodle Dandy
8. When Doves Cry monologue tease
9. Do Me, Baby (R&B at its finest)
10. Irresistible Bitch
11. How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore?
12. Let's Pretend We're Married
13. International Lover (Prince abruptly stops the song)
14. God
15. Computer Blue (slammin')

This is a Purple Rain tour gig soundboard, and it's supposedly the full show, so "Purple Rain" wasn't played this night.

Sheila E. probably plays additional percussion with the Revolution on this. The last track is Sheila E.'s opening set. The trader wrote that it was from this show, but it's probably actually from Miami a month later (on 4/07/85) because she mentions "Miami."
Prince played in Miami at the Orange Bowl Stadium on Easter Sunday, 1985...
he played this one first:
Let's Go Crazy (5:58)

and this one last:

Diary of a Madman tour

Ozzy Osbourne - Vocals
Randy Rhoads - Guitar
Rudy Sarzo - Bass
Tommy Aldridge - Drums
Lindsay Bridgewater - Keyboards

I encoded this one at 128 kbps (still "cd quality"), so it's only 55 MB. Too bad the landing page doesn't display a decimal point and the fractions because then I could have conceivably made the download 66.6 MB haha. There's a pro-shot dvd of this show that trades; This is the stereo soundboard extracted from that, I suppose.

fucking awesome man, fucking awesome!

randy rhoads is still my favorite "shredder", he always played for the song and played circles around eddie van halen.

the only thing that could make this show better was if they played over the mountain.

anyway, thanks for another awesome up.

ps: that bardo up is the archive cd release, it's out of print though and very excellent.

I was hoping you would like.
I've listened to this a couple of times before, but I just started listening to it tonight again while paying attention to the tracklisting, and I'm just now realizing how fucked the tracklist I received with this download is.

The correct set list is:
1. I Don't Know
2. Children Of The Grave
3. Crazy Train
4. Flying High Again
5. Believer
6. Iron Man
7. Mr. Crowley
8. Paranoid
9. Revelaton (Mother Earth)
10. Steal Away (The Night) > drum solo
11. Suicide Solution > Randy solo

And this is how they are sequenced in the winzip folder, so don't worry.
I edited my original post to reflect the changes.
