I wasnt flying off the handle, but how dare you insinuate that I might be from Kalama-fucking-zoo! :D

Anyway, I won't send you that dick pick I had queued up, but I'm not your average "Unitedstatesian." I am frequently mistaken for a teenager, and I'm in my mid-30s. Smallest kid in my high school graduating class. I'm a tiny dude, and I'm OK with it, because you're right — there's a lot of tonnage here. Hahah.

Sad really.

Anyway, you're spot on about the BvS logo. I hated that fat stupid thing. Ditto for the Batman costume in the movie. AND in the Justice League movie. He looks like a fatload. Does the batshit really need veins?

OH MAN THE BATSUIT WAS UNACCEPTABLE. (I know there's a thread about this movie here somewhere but what the hell, we've already gone off-fuckin'-topic). That crap played a major role in Affleck being way more believable as Bruce Wayne than as The Batman. Whoever signed off on that costume should be sent to polish ISIS' soldiers' boots. I mean, those motherfuckers always look dirty. So anyway, the exoskeleton at least was pretty decent...

konrad sprenger - stack music [pan]

this is utterly marvellous, a resolutely modern take on long-form american primitivism.

aaron dilloway - the gag file [dais]

probably mentioned this one already but just to spew her up again.

lagging really far behind at the moment but really enjoying new laurel halo, felicia atkinson, tony conrad reissue, ilpo vaisanen, aine o'dwyer, lieven martens etc.

When the fucking ROBOTIC batuit is the only one that's passable, something's wrong. I agree, it was decent. But most people were like "Oh, so Batman's Iron Man now?" (missing the irony of Iron Man being an abject Batman direct rip in the first place).

Look at how fat his fucking head looks! Unacceptable.

Also... look, you can even see the bat-veins! Remember when bat-nipples were such a big deal after Schumacher used them? This is almost as bad.

Oh, and to make this relevant...

I just read that Danny Elfman is doing the score for Justice League, taking over for Junkie XL and Hans Zimmer (who did BvS, the soundtrack of which was actually pretty good... Zimmer's amazing). And a lot of Tim Burton-era fans are excited about this, like it's a dream come true, but me, I say fuck that!!

Yes, Danny Elfman do a very nice, maybe even iconic job on the scores for Batman '89 and Batman Returns, but that was then. He hasn't done much else that hasn't sucked, besides dating Kim Gordon. And what's the deal with everything about Justice League being in a constant state of flux? Snyder leaves, band Joss Whedon takes over direction? Huh? Then Billy Crudup leaves after filming his scenes? Wha? Now the movie is presumably done, but the soundtrack is just being assigned?

Nothing about this sounds promising in any way.

So, the Justice League soundtrack is NOT on my best new/most anticipated albums of 2017 list, and that's how I'm gonna tie everything up with a nice little bow.

:D

DJ Sports - Modern Species is a promising new album for sure. Good contemplative dance music for one's ass.

And marrying Bridget Fonda. Remember Bridget Fonda...?

New album by Anne Waldman's Workshop. From Bandcamp:

Dakini Poetics & The Irreparable
by Anne Waldman's Workshop SWP 2017

Dakini poetics is an invisible "play of energy" / an interconnectedness of poetics, ethics, and politics / a refuge of language / a collaboration / is irreparable.

Available for a name-your-price. Don't be a dick and pay some goddamn coins.

Nice review of the new Bill Orcutt album, which is out on the 30th of June.

There's a new Lorde album.

Lorde is that 17-year-old who sang "All Apologies" or something at Nirvana's Rock Hall induction.

I don't care about her new album even though I know it will have some mean hooks and shit. Anyway, watch it win a Grammy.

I think pop music might be broken like alternatindie now.

noisereductions 06.21.2017 07:33 PM

That Lorde album seems pretty good actually.

I'm sure it's pretty good. Still, I'm not interested. My girlfriend played her first album constantly for months, and every song just got drilled into my brain. It's heartbreak and empowerment music for teens. I don't like having that shit drilled into my brain. Makes me acutely aware of how heartbroken I am, and how unacceptable it is at my age to talk or sing about it.

Fuck you Lorde, for making me taste the bitter regret of a wasted life!

;)

I really love the new Land of Talk album. Subtle walls of synth and a strong Fleetwood Mac vibe, but distinctively Liz Powell. I love her melodies

Together at Last is fucking great.

She also fucked up The Replacements' "Swingin' Party". I think she misunderstood and thought it was called "Swimmin' Party".

noisereductions 06.23.2017 09:58 PM

Already watched.

This album is great. Besides "I am trying", other standouts for me are the takes on "Dawned on me", "Always in Love" but the whole thing is arranged so we'll. I love it.

I'm digging the new Dutch Uncles album. Very catchy prog pop, with some pretty creative instrumentation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_TQwB4f6Hk

new Melvins tomorrow. Though, I've struggled to keep up w/ all their output lately. I think the last one I bought was Everybody Loves Sausages if I recall.

Severian 07.06.2017 07:51 PM

4:44 is totally one of the best new AND most anticipated albums of the year.

Now RUN, Jay Z! Run away! Get your ass in the wind before you fuck shit up again!! I beg you!

gogologogolo 07.07.2017 05:30 PM

Ex Eye (Colin Stetson and virtuoso drumming extraordinaire Greg Fox) just dropped their debut album and it's rad. Had a chance to see these guys a few weeks ago and passed it and now I'm regretting it.
