I'll be making one. Be prepared to have your stomach destroyed.

HaydenAsche 08.16.2006 07:04 PM

OH. Pookie. Be a dear and e-mail me your address again. I still lack the PM function.

I've found another creative twist one can add to making tapes, providing one has the right equipment: I used my turntable pitch control on a couple of songs for this next one--let's just say that even slowed down, David Bowie really does seem to be singing "mouse" in that line, "She says, oh baby, just you shut your mouth..." . He also sounds much sexier.

porkmarras 08.17.2006 08:48 AM

Yeah yeah yeah, gmku. You'll never beat my current set up wich is made of 2 cd decks and a pc.I can mix everything nicely and add some creative twists to my little mixtapes.I've had to re-think my third one and now it's going to be a triple concept mixtape about love, peace and cock.No sides for this one. You'll get sod 1,sod 2,sod 3 etc etc.

gmku 08.17.2006 08:55 AM

sounds like a much more sophisticated set-up than mine, then. I'm rather lo-tech. Ah, listen to the crackle as the needle finds the groove...

sonicl 08.17.2006 08:58 AM

I've made a point of including the crackle, and also occasionally of leaving the sound of the needle lifting at the end of the track. Had any of my records skipped I'd have left that too, but they didn't.

porkmarras 08.17.2006 08:59 AM

Yeah but i can convert old tapes and vynil while i mix at the same time.Beat that!Currently,my mixtape is being produced by Philip Jeck and The London Community Choir is making a guest appearance.

sonicl 08.17.2006 09:00 AM

Porky, what have I told you about being silly?

I couldn't. Even if I had the equipment. I'm not smart enough.

I've told you that you'll be sent straight to bed with no tea.

Hip Priest 08.17.2006 03:45 PM

When I finished my round 2 tape, Iinitially considering ditching it and starting all over again. But after a few listens, I actually prefer it to tape one. My only regret is that I made it 90 minutes instead of 120. But I can live with that.

I'll post sometime next week.

Everyneurotic 08.18.2006 12:51 AM

i finished everything!!!!!!

i'm posting it tomorrow, and it's one for the ages, lemme tells ya!

Glice 08.18.2006 04:17 PM

Gash. I nearly finished the tape, but have decided on a drastic re-thinking of the track-listing. Probably posted on Sunday now.

HaydenAsche 08.18.2006 04:37 PM

Mine is burnt on 2 cds(one for each side) and I'll put it on a tape soon. Mine is going to come in a small box. Probably a shoebox without coverart. Only random things I decide to put in it.

sonicl 08.18.2006 04:48 PM

I was thinking about putting small gifts in with mine, but didn't in the end. My local railway timetable was one of the possibilities.

Glice 08.18.2006 06:41 PM

Mix tape now finished. Perhaps not as much of a headfuck as the first, but certainly challenging. I'm pleased.

Pookie 08.18.2006 06:55 PM

I've decided to abuse my position as coordinator this time, and listen to the tapes as they arrive.

I've listened to one so far and it's a corker.
