I don't tend to compare yoghurts to, say, Lancashire hot pot. I do, however, tend to compare a bhoona to a phall. It's not really prejedice to observe well-worn linguistic conventions. I had a big thought in my head that I wanted to simply compare some persons mentioned as artists who gained fame for simply doing what they did best - be it writing, playing an instrument, dancing, whatever.

and it puzzles me to read stuff such as, "He wasn't great because he was comparable to Dostoevsky or Beethoven (as at one point Cornell suggests)" ...I wonder, why not?

is there some sort of moral authority we must abide to, before we draw comparisons of this kind? just curious about it.
