if i remember correctly the og mono pressing of that is worth a large amount, so check it out. although with blue notes it seems hard to tell if it's actually the original or an early repress

Actually Blue Note does a decent job of clueing you in via the address on the label and the stamps on the deadwax. Mine is a pre-liberty pressing with the''p'' and the van gelder in the deadwax, it also has the correct address on the label, its the real deal. Still sounds great even after 45+ years....

y'know man, I listened to it keeping in MIND that the last 3 are bonus tracks, and really the album is pretty fucking great as a 10-track. It's really just the bonus tracks that bring it down in the end. Anyway, I really like it.

Bought this one on CD at the Emeralds/OPN show yesterday, it's my favorite Emeralds record.

shabbray2.0 10.17.2010 05:11 AM

what a cover!

shabbray2.0 10.17.2010 05:19 AM

crap.
I youtubes emeralds...and I f*cking love them!!!!!!
recommendations for a bloody starter?

TheFoxBen 10.17.2010 05:48 AM

The self-titled record and Does It Look Like I'm Here? are the ones I started with and I think are the most accessible. If you wanna go further, Solar Bridge and The Overlook are great.

Derek 10.17.2010 05:53 AM

Just get them all really.

shabbray2.0 10.17.2010 05:55 AM

I am sucking like a maniac, and filling my amazon wishlist :)
I love to experience a good band for the first time on a lazy sunday.

great!!!! thanks yall

TheFoxBen 10.17.2010 07:36 AM

I also highly recommend Skyramps' Days of Thunder, the two members of this project are Mark McGuire (Emeralds' guitarist) and Daniel Lopatin (OPN), probably the best thing related to them I've heard.

shabbray2.0 10.17.2010 07:46 AM

thanks, I stumbled across them on discogs, but ignored them so far for the sake of the emeralds rush I am in :)
is there still a chance of getting some hardcopy tape releases by them?
