Agreed. I was so looking forward to this album and it doesn't dissapoint, great vibe from it. Love her voals on opening track too. And another new album coming in June apparently... |
I only listened to the Joni Mitchell cover For Free, and don't really like it:
here is the album version it's too over-produced. Live they do a better job at it, check here But for me it still can't beat the Crosby Stills Nash version And definitely not Joni herself! |

I need to add to that that I've been listening mostly to eighties New Wave bands the past few days. So anything else would right now sound over-produced to me :D This is good stuff though: A BLAZE COLOUR - DEMO |

Sarcasm? '80s new wave bands, assuming we're talking about the synth-pop/new pop/new romantics end of the spectrum rather than the bands who still carried a torch for punk/post-punkolitude (although the line is difficult to draw sometimes, I know) were overproduced as F. |
spent the morning listening to "focus" shit for work and at lunchtime finally cleaned my ears
![]() it works every time |
^ MASTERWORK. And likely an unintentional one, at that! "Jerry Nolan on the front of the Dolls debut album is the first woman I ever fell in love with." —Morrissey
Apparently, though, it doesn't hold a candle to Smashing Pumpkins. Oh well... ![]() |
was that necessary?
Recent listens on my part, for what it's worth, include Faith, Futureworld, and Different Class. |

Taking the high road after all the shit shot now, are we? Hypocrisy squared. |

i'm here to enjoy music and discover things, not to participate in any kind of tiresome ego contest about who was cool in 1963 or something. anyway keep posting what you listen to and ignore the fucking bait. |

can you just share what you like and leave it at that? |
Having been cyberpunched, I cyberpunched back. At this point age is irrelevant - gloves off, my man. As for you, nobody's forcing you to do jack squat. Damn good album, though...
|
I mean, say what you will, and I've been a bit of a bitch. However, I haven't bought in completely unrelated posts just to shit on someone (at least I don't recall doing so).

There's only one problem with that album:
IT'S TOO SHORT !!!!! used to play it on repeat repeat repeat repeat endlessly back in those days. |
Quote:
Well, it's an EP, dude. Whaddayawant from it. ;):D |

![]() and after that I have this ready to go: The Breeders, 1992-06-24, BBC Hit the North Session (FM/flac) where they play most of the Safari EP live 01. -interview- 02. Safari 03. Lime House 04. No Aloha 05. -band intros > interview- 06. Do You Love Me Now? 07. Don't Call Home I love to listen to their interviews, because they were bonkers, and had so different accents between the US slang of the Deal sisters and the UK Cockney (or whatever it is) accent of Josephine Wiggs. Here's an interview from the same era (probably 1993), which I had actually recorded on cassette when it was broadcast: Villa 65: De Favoriete Platen van Kim Deal (Pixies en Breeders) - VPRO Kim and Josephine introduce their favourite songs, one of them is I Deamed I Dream: Black Sabbath - Paranoid (KD) Dianne Warwick - Walk On By (JW) Jimmi Hendrix - Crosstown Traffic (KD) Sonic Youth - I Dreamed I Dream Bettie Serveert - Healthy Kind Of Sick (KD) Doris Day - Secret Love (JW) Glenn Campbell- Whitchita Linesman (KD) Rolling Stones - Under My Thumb the Chiffons - One Fine Day (KD) Lisa Stansfield - Real Love (JW) |

I'm listening to Chemtrails again.
If you hate it, fuck you. (And that "June" album will likely be June 2022, based on recent trends.) |

There’s a new Xiu Xiu album and I am listening to that and it is good
|

saw them live back in the 00's but i didn't love'em they weren't bad though, just didn't resonate with me. curious now... |
Quote:
I tried to give it a chance the other day because it features Sharon Van Etten, Circuit des Yeux, Alice Bag, Grouper... but I couldn't even finish track 1. Those vocals, man... ![]() |

They’ve been at it, man. I don’t love everything they’ve made — the deeply unsettling stuff is just a bit much — but the new album is pretty (relatively) poppy. Also, their Twin Peaks tribute record was great. |
Quote:
so what are your favorite albums by them? i don't have time to listen to all 14 or however many. (i saw in the track list of their latest they have a collaboration with greg saunier so i'm looking forward to that either way) |
