Fine inspiration. I have tried encouraging others into Sigur Ros before and stopped when someone called them "a pile of pretentious wank". Not for everyone...

John Olson sent me a Wolf Eyes Radio

I never really liked them either, until I saw them live which was more or less accidentally since I was in London and had nothing beter to do that night, the reason I went was more for the venue (Ally Pally, famous in my country for the yearly darts tournament) ;)
That concert was amazing (even though I didn't know most of the songs they played), and was later released as the Inni album & movie.

Now listening: the news :(
Yesterday's listening: YOB! LIVE! LOUD!

No, tv news.

Old album, but freshly bought

Old purchase, but hardly listened too, and I still understand why. It's intriguing, but at the same time makes me really hyper

The Soup Nazi 05.01.2020 08:01 AM

Speaking of, there's gonna be a megatonic Bang On A Can marathon this Sunday, live online.

Mary Halvorson will perform and that's all that matters.

Hell yeah, the soundscapes on that album are smooth as can be. Love it too.

Right now: mixology - a Vaporwave/Synth mix by Jason Sanders. Yes, I listen to those from time to time.

You're spot on it is so smooth. There is an abruptness with some Mogwai, which is no bad thing but this album just flows.

That's awesome.

Love the darts too, great atmosphere live but have never experienced it at Ally Palace.

Ithaca by Madeleine Cocolas

Quote:

I wrote “Ithaca” after returning to live in my home town of Brisbane, Australia after many years away living in Melbourne, Seattle and New York. Writing “Ithaca” was a raw, personal and cathartic experience for me and explores the complex and varied emotions I have felt since returning home. It canvasses feelings of optimism, frustration, heartbreak, melancholy and ultimately hope.

Whilst the title “Ithaca” is derived from a previous name for the neighbourhood I currently live in, I acknowledge the Jagera and Turrbal people as the first inhabitants and the traditional custodians of the lands where I live.

released May 8, 2020

Written, performed, produced and mixed by Madeleine Cocolas
Mastered by Lawrence English

With thanks to Lawrence, Gregory, Beatrix & Xanthe

This is an edition from Someone Good.

This is a very nice album, it's at times something like Nils Frahm. I did skip the third track.
