on vitalogy there's one track called satan's bed. is that a cover becuz i think i heard before...

Anyway I believe Satan's Bed is an original PJ song, not a cover. Perhaps it reminds you of another song? Even though I do like PJ a lot, some songs do sound the same. I usually prefer listening to a live show of theirs rather than an album, either official bootleg or fanmade recording. This one for instance is a good one:
