I listened to Yellow Loveless yesterday, which was fun hearing these alternate takes on all the songs that I know and love. No idea how I can find a download though.

Now I'm listening to Plastic Beach.

NYCgaf16 03.15.2020 04:05 PM

NYCgaf16 03.15.2020 04:07 PM

on vitalogy there's one track called satan's bed. is that a cover becuz i think i heard before...

choc e-Claire 03.15.2020 04:54 PM

I've listened to 193 albums so far this year, most recently Turn on the Bright Lights by Interpol.

NYCgaf16 03.16.2020 06:06 AM

i've listend to 109 so far + the cd it would be 20+ albums

_tunic_ 03.16.2020 08:12 AM

109 + 1 = 20

that makes sense :D

Anyway I believe Satan's Bed is an original PJ song, not a cover. Perhaps it reminds you of another song? Even though I do like PJ a lot, some songs do sound the same. I usually prefer listening to a live show of theirs rather than an album, either official bootleg or fanmade recording. This one for instance is a good one:
11 July 2003 – Mansfield, Massachusetts
See wiki
At least set one is on yt

Also if you like PJ, check out Mirror Ball, the album that they made with Neil Young.
Which brings me to what I've been listening to

Surprisingly this album still rocks. Even and especially Driftin' Back for all of its 27 minutes!

And in my head I'm whistling along with Lou Barlow but I don't know what song yet

One of my favourites especially because I saw them live a few times back in those days. Damn that drummer was so cool to watch. Did you know that Lee (co-)produced this album?

Mirror Ball has some great songs on it, to be sure.

“I’m the Ocean” was a favorite of mine

This morning, I’ve been taking my preaching from Reverend Paul David Hewson

“We were as close together as a bride and groom
We ate the food, we drank the wine
Everybody having a good time
Except you
You were talking about the end of the world”

You're not that off. In '72, Lester Bangs wrote that Black Sabbath was "probably the first truly Catholic rock group, or the first group to completely immerse themselves in the Fall and Redemption." :D
