I get Charli XCX now.
Thoroughly digging "I don't want it at all" by Kim Petras.

I like to make annual mixtapes, so I've been going through my favorite songs this year.

Dalton's voice is truly unique. Wonderful stuff.
Judee Sill is great too, but her life story is very bleak.

And Laura Nyro before that. Not a "folk singer", but a singer-songwriter like no other. Little music of any kind, by anyone, ever, make me feel the way Laura does.

Cool, glad to have delivered that reminder. It's a really good album.

Gotta admit that I don't know that much of her music. Listened to a few songs some time ago. Remember liking them. Alright, I've got some catching up to do - I'll put it on my figurative "Gotta listen to that"-list.

Eli And The Thirteenth Confession is probably where you wanna start, then New York Tendaberry, then work your way backwards and forwards. The girl-group/doo-wop cover songs album she did with LaBelle, Gonna Take A Miracle, is just...

I’m all Apple, but I hate what they’re doing with phones right now.
Goddamn them.
Refuse to buy a new one until I absolutely have to.

Several records this morning. The Turks really knew how to get down.

Just out of curiosity, you wouldn’t happen to be a Black Tambourine fan, would you?

It seems so, yeah. I really like em. Throw Aggi Off The Bridge has sort of become a staple during my 90s parties. That type of music perfectly caters to my fuzzy, shoegazy listening sensibilities.

And yeah, it's a good album. I remember some murmurs around Blank Dogs back when this initially came out, but nothing much ever since.

Antagon 01.02.2019 06:43 PM

Oh and I thought I'd pipe that in, since we were just discussing them.

Goddamn great stuff.

Not as much goddamn great stuff of this variety lately, but Dub Thompson was promising in 2014.

Listening to Dub Thompson now.

I’m a Master of Reality and Vol. 4 kind of guy, but still... hell of a run they had for the first several albums.

i like this one a lot... as a soothing ambient record for my nerves

it’s very comforting!

Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is their best album. Objective fact

I like that album however it isn't their best album. Tbf, you could easily choose any of their first 5 albums and say it's their best. Fuck I love Sabbath.

Theyre one of those bands for me (along with Sonic Youth and Pantera (bite me)) who some days I think "I wanna listen to something like Sabbath but not Sabbath and no band ever comes close. After searching and listening I end up just thinking "fuck it, I'll just listen to some Sabbath)

Savage Clone 01.03.2019 12:32 PM

Still like the debut best, but yeah the first several are all killer. Except for "Changes."
