Yeah but I forgot about it until you mentioned it and assumed they sold out. They didn't, though. I bought tickets like ten minutes after I said that, haha.

So...

I bought two. Hopefully a lucky lady will present an opportunity before I just sell one to a guy friend.

haha awesome. Should be a good time. I wounder what album most of the material will come from. they have three new ones to draw from...
I'm guessing he'll use ghosts material as bridges into the next songs (sorta like how zappa would solo into the next song)

Everyneurotic 07.19.2008 03:19 PM

i might see nin in october, not sure yet, though.

It'll probably be about 1/3 Slip, 1/3 Year Zero, and 1/3 old stuff. I'm not so sure about Ghosts. As great as the album is, that would be terrible live material unless it was just that the whole show. I'm sure some will be used to segue, though.

MellySingsDoom 07.20.2008 06:44 AM

Alexander Tucker's great - pure doom-folk-psych-metal loveliness, especially live.

MellySingsDoom 07.23.2008 05:35 AM

Next planned gig is the ATP Halloween thing at the Forum. And also, er, the Ting Tings in September...

This Is Not Here 07.23.2008 06:28 AM

I havn't bought tickets yet, but I'm planning to see:

The Residents
Tricky
Keiran Hebden and Steve Reid
dEUS

all towards the end of the year.

and tomorrow, this night of sound-art at Kings Cross.

This Is Not Here 07.23.2008 06:29 AM

Not to mention Jungle Brothers, People Under The Stairs and possibly Black Keys in New frickin' York!

MellySingsDoom 07.23.2008 07:44 AM

Oh yes, me also going to the Colour Out Of Sound weekend fest in Brighton , on the 1st weekend of September.

Sonic Youth 37 07.24.2008 09:20 PM

Just found another one: Silver Jews!!! I'm going to try to go to the September 12th show (2 hour drive, $15), but if I can't swing that one I'll go to the October 12th, (3 hour drive,$14) It's a tough decision, if I go to the Sept, I'll be going alone, but if I go in October, a friend would go with me.

Also, I'm slightly bummed that the Pumpkins are playing kind of near (2 and 1/2 hours) but the tickets are $50 plus fees and I wouldn't be up front. I'd almost pay that if I didn't have to drive. It's on August 13th and from August 17th onward I'd be in walking distance (less than a mile) from the venue. But, I'd have to eat my words on my "No James. No D'arcy. No Pumpkins" mantra when Billy came back with the cover band.

drrrtyboots 07.24.2008 10:37 PM

Sonic Youth @ McCarren Park Pool Aug. 30th!

Yes :)

I think we should organise a meeting of all the boardies who are going to it, before the show at the exhibit maybe (EDIT: at least for those who can attend the exhibit too off course, I was planning to go to the exhibit on the afternoon).

Cantankerous 08.07.2008 10:45 PM

Cantankerous 08.07.2008 11:27 PM

ariel pink is AWESOME

davenotdead 08.07.2008 11:31 PM
