Torn Curtain 04.15.2015 04:47 PM

The Talkhouse featuring Annie Clark (St. Vincent) with Andy Gill (Gang of Four)

rebeccagotcursedout 04.15.2015 11:30 PM

Loretta Lynn and Kanye Twitty - you're the reason our kids are ugly/pickin wild mountain berries. no other country duet can't match those two.

I also maintain that Dwight Yoakam is one of the greatest country singer of all-time. besides ol' Hank.

lots of country.

Girls against Boys - Cruise Yourself
new Lightning Bolt - Fantasy Empire
Morphine - Cure for Pain (for the first time). it's ok.
Coltrane
Billy Holiday

Rob Instigator 04.17.2015 10:15 AM

ha ha ha

that's sexist and ageist

i run hot all day, so in the evenings i need to take a shower, have a beer & relax

feels great

if you worked hard you'd know this! :p

Rob Instigator 04.17.2015 10:32 AM

so you follow the dictum "work hard, play soft?"

when I want soothing sounds to relax to I put on Jazz or Classical music. I can't stand soft-ass old lady fake-rock.

its great as great can be. why did I hear the other beatle solo albums first?

This is really greatest Lennon album Iīve heard! He seemed to really have a vision in this one that he lost already in Imagine (before I thought it is his greatest solo album). I had heard first four songs before, but the rest songs I canīt remember to be heard before. Only song that is little bit mediocre is God, but itīs lyrically strong (specially when you know the time it came).

Walls & Bridges is not great, there are some great songs but not any other as genius as #9 Dream.

What about those three avantgarde-albums he made with Yoko before that Plastic Ono Band album, are they any good?

boricua please! i don't need a "dictum" to be tired at the end of a workday. i just am. i like to relax.

you're on your ass all day surrounded by heater vents-- do what you need to do with your free time.

yes!!! it is the greatest Lennon solo. Imagine is a little too produced compared to Plastic Ono Band.

I was kinda like you at one time. only heard maybe two or three songs off that record. I was shocked hearing it. what made me want to finally check the album out was the Scorsese movie The Departed.

those John and Yoko albums may or may not be worth it. I haven't heard them.

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 04.17.2015 06:24 PM

Worth quoting again! I don't have the last one but the top two are a couple of my favorite records.

great start for a saturday morning

Mortte Jousimo 04.19.2015 12:38 AM

Talking about the Beatles (which I still prefer more than any of their solo outputs even that Plastic Ono album is really great in itīs non-beatles substance) this song uses genius style of Beatles really attractive way:
